In LA for a week, anything cool I should check out while I'm here?
-
Looking for spec PILOTS to read. Any recommendations?

Let's talk about what music you write to....

So I have a Star Wars theory - JJ is going to kill Han Solo.

I'm contemplating a move to a Macbook after not finding a PC laptop I really like. I have a PC desktop, so the laptop will not be my primary machine. I'm looking for portability but need enough power for writing/surfing, maybe some Netfilx. I'd appreciate hearing users' thoughts on Macbook Airs and Pro retinas. Thanks!

Switched to a Macbook Air after years of being a linux laptopper (not easy but can be done).
For 99.9% of users, there isn't that much difference between PCs and Macs.
The Air (11inch) is lightweight, ergonomic and its battery life is the best of I've seen in laptops of its class. It runs all the software I need and then some.
But the greatest benefit is not getting the silent sneers in hipster coffee shops when I pull out a non-Mac.

Just watched Black List writer Christopher MacBride's feature debut, THE CONSPIRACY. It's a corker! Check it out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2330322/

The Knick is such a damn good show. Probably my favorite of the year. Only 3 eps in, but this would be my reason for buying cinemax.
-
The next great TV show everyone will be talking about: HBO's CRIME. You didn't hear it from me.

Can anyone play douchebag as well as Bill Paxton?

Pinch me -- My project is on Yahoo News they're talking about the forthcoming film thought the script isn't on the market yet! https://t.co/Uj9v4aSrXg

Screenplays (produced and unproduced) with your favorite twist endings? Minimum spoilers please.

Can anyone name some films with brothers on opposite sides of the law?
-
Anyone have a prediction for Age of Extinction's weekend gross?
-
Anyone see 22 Jump Street? How does it compare to 21 Jump Street?
-
Exciting news! Got a gig doing a rewrite for a film already in the pipeline that has some serious potential but they're asking if I have an agent...which I don't. Any suggestions from any of my already repped friends?

Need a comedy spec to read. Tired of reading sci-fi. I mean, I'm not, because I love sci-fi, but I need to read more comedies. Any to recommend?
-
If you want to take a gander at a first draft of a comedy spec I'm looking to revise, I'd appreciate any thoughts you have.
It's a Rom-com called ROMCOM. You can guess the rest.
It's here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oe3h66y7v4rzbj4/romcom-GERNGROSS.pdf.
Feel free to indulge or ignore at your discretion.

Season 2 of House Of Cards seems a bit more fragmented then the 1st season. Also burns at slower pace. Haven't figured out my thoughts on it. Though it seems season 1 may have been better.

House of Cards must hold some type of record for the amount of metaphors and analogies they churn out every episode

I really wanted to feel... *something* about what happened to Brody but the lead-up was so poor I was just kind of ambivalent. And what was with Carrie?? For the emotional wreck she's been this season she was oddly calm about everything that went down. Talking with the people responsible for Brody's outcome as though nothing happened. No attempted eye gouging or anything.
-
An utterly disastrous finale.
Not re-upping on this one. Pointe, HBO.
The season wasn't a complete waste tho. Felt the season had nearly redeemed itself from the Dana shenanigans and general waywardness when Brody got to Tehran. The penultimate episode was damn good.
BUT
holy fuck what a shitty conclusion.
Great dilemma set up for Saul, save the mission but not Brody and they almost immediately resolved it.
Then that lon...

There's a great show I think you should check out - it's called Breaking Bad with the dad from Malcolm in Middle - yeah, I know right. But he's awesome in it. Two episodes into season 3. Looking forward to more… Yeah, I'm late to the party but this show is awesome!
