  1. Hey guys, does anyone know how to sign up for these events at the YouTube Space L.A.? I don't see any links on this page, do you? http://www.youtube.com/yt/space/events-la.html

  2. Hoping tracking is wrong and Grown Ups 2 BOMBS and Pacific Rim BRINGS IT. http://variety.com/2013/film/box-office/pacific-rim-looking-grim-with-25-million-35-million-opening-1200560676/

Just the fact that ANYONE will go see Grown Ups 2 is depressing to me. In fact, Adam Sandler's entire career...

  3. Hottest gal or guy at the Globes? I'd put Jessica Chastain on my terrorist watch list, and Tina Fey can host an awards show for two. Sophia Vergara can modernize my family. I'd like to go down on Michelle Dockery's abbey, and what the hell, Helen Mirren can hitch my cock. (sorry, dame Helen, had to go there) ;-)

He hasn't burnt any bridges, at least that I know of, and he has a familiar face - pretty much all you need to be a working actor.

    3. Taragel

      Taragel

He had a lot of charisma on Dawson's Creek but hasn't picked great roles since. (Fringe included.) He needs to do lighter comic stuff. Not sure about The Affair but will tune in! My "I-don't-understand-how-he-keeps-getting-work" actor is Michael Trucco. Delightful in person, so blah on screen.

    4. axalon

      axalon

Trucco is probably easy to work with on set and looks nice on screen. In terms of acting, well, I mean as long as he can say the lines even remotely believably...

  6. How was Under the Dome? I'm waiting until Friday to watch it on Amazon Prime. Don't tell me it's directed by Mick Garris. :P

    1. craktactor

      craktactor

I compare it to Stephen King's "It". And by that, I mean when the "monster" was revealed. Not that there was a "monster" revealed in Under the Dome, but it was, to me, quite underwhelming. Laughable, actually. But as I've stated many times here, it's all subjective.

  7. I need to know if anyone's seen a structural paradigm for a one hour TV drama? Like a Blake Snyder beat sheet but for TV. I can't find one, could use help. Thanks!

100% agree with Jiblings. While there are A, B storylines, and seasonal, and episodical arcs you aim to hit in a series, overall, the structure has become increasingly different per series over the years. Heck, some shows are up to 6-7 acts now per episode.

    3. naugehyde

      naugehyde

Tv is changing radically thanks to Netflix etc.

There are no paradigms. World of difference between episodic and serial. World of difference between ad breaks and straight through.

Nomadwriter's right. The prologue's with IMAX M:I-4 and trailer's with SH2. I think the trailer was always meant to be in front of Holmes anyway.

    3. specwriter

      specwriter

Okay, well that's okay with me because I assume the normal trailer will be online by Monday, at the latest, as those things usually do, so I don't need to pay to see Sherlock Holmes. I already shelled out $18.50 plus processing fee for M:I4 in iMax... whattamI Bruce friggin' Wayne ova here? [dying trumpet noise]

If you sign up with Seefilm first or log in, then you can watch the Dark Knight Prologue only. There's no film to accompany it, its just the first six minutes. I tried to go one in London, but last nights was sold out. And i can't make the Manchester as have induction for new job. The only one's i can see left: 10pm,12/13 at Riverfront park, Spokane. AMC, San Fran,10:30pm 12/13. Catherdal city and one in NJ.

    3. ira schmira

      ira schmira

The hallway scene, the consuming of the octopus... the whole premise why release a guy after x amount of years? And then, of course, the twist and the final hypothetical. There's some much going on. You don't get this kind of ambition in hollywood.

    4. specwriter

      specwriter

The hallway scene didn't look real, it was obviously stunt men. The long single take felt like the director intruding, it pulled me out. Same with the octopus; I wasn't watching a character eat an octopus, I was watching an ACTOR push himself to prove that he was tough. And the final twist...adds up to what? What's the point?

Someone posted it in File Exchange and then took down the thread. I'm assuming -- a) he/she posted the wrong script -- or B) he/she got told to pull it off the site.

Honestly you should just cold submit wherever. What's the worst that can happen? They don't respond (which is identical to a co. that does take unsolicited). Believe me if your pitch is actually strong that won't stop people from requesting it.

  22. Question on cursing in a single-cam sitcom pilot script: Is it okay if I write in a cheeky *note to the reader* like "the curse words can be bleeped if it ends up on network and if it's HBO, then fuck it and let it ride?" I don't want the reader to immediately assume when they see shits and f-bombs that this has to be pay-cable. They do plenty of bleeping now on ad-supported networks. Seen this done before?

    1. Reader George
