  1. WHIPLASH was the best movie of 2014. UNBROKEN was the most disappointing.

Son of a Gun was by no means a perfect film, but I really, really enjoyed it. Especially since it was the director's first.

I saw Superbad twice in theaters. I dropped a tear or two during 50/50. But I don't know what Seth Rogen thinks is so funny about all these idiotic dick jokes. He's so much better than that. Hopefully this pushes him and his team to do more epic shit. However, I do think this was missed potential-- awesome premise, shitty execution. Forget pissin Kim Dung off, the right film could have gotten his own people to assassinate him.

  4. Happy Holidays to one and all. Just like to say this consistently stays a great resource. Thanks to all the contributors - Hit List, Black List, FYC scripts, old scripts, spec scripts, TV scripts. Just great. Thank you. Now make sure you read some of the scripts instead of just having a million of them. So much to learn. Never give up on your writing dreams. Never ever.

  5. Just watched Black List writer Christopher MacBride's feature debut, THE CONSPIRACY. It's a corker! Check it out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2330322/

Creatively speaking though, they did a great job on such a small film. I really liked it. PS-- this flew under the radar just like "Kill The Messenger" did. Perhaps certain people didn't want them released? Who knows.

I'm in NY, and plenty of people here question what really happened on 9-11.

Sounds like something Kim Jong Dick would like. Better put the Wayans Brothers on it.

Spec_Writer the title seems shitty to me too but I'll wait to see the film to form my opinion. Maybe it will mean more after.

Kim Jong and his cronies are probably eating popcorn and watching the screeners.

Ben-- I mean, I liked the 3 planets angle better than the underground jungle one, but, the third act with the Chinese was SOOOO much better than that whole thing with the book case. I liked the finished movie, but it could have been a lot better.

Because this film didn't live up to the hype, I'm only more excited to see what he'll do next. I feel he's going to push himself and KNOCK it out of the park.

I thought it was "good," but I feel anyone here who read the original script knows it could have been GREAT.

  16. What is the best written feature length legal drama (produced or unproduced) in the last 5 years?

  17. Hmm, Write2Reel went to a "paid site" status yesterday. ($60.00 a year) How many of you frequent this "little brother" to the Tracking Board? For the most part, TB kicks ass over it in all areas, but lately some gems have popped up via someone scanning in hard to find scripts. I think I'll pass on paying for their weak service. Any thoughts?

How would you guys compare TB to DoneDeal, and all the others? Would you guys say TB is best?

  18. It's hard to find a more dangerously misguided director on the planet than Oliver Stone. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oliver-stone-planning-doc-russian-747366

On Castro-- he's an interesting character. Many Cubans hate his rule, but many others, more so a broad swath of Latin America, look at him, even if they don't agree with all his policies, as a hero of sorts for giving America's govt the finger for last however many decades. This little guy on a little island, standing up to the biggest empire in the world. I think that's more of what Stone was admiring. His standing up to the U.S. government.

I wouldn't mind watching a doc on Putin. Probably wouldn't pay to see it in a theater, but I'd watch on TV. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with exploring a different point of view, to see where someone else is coming from. To educate yourself if nothing else.

Could care less. A good movie's a good movie, doesn't matter whether or not you spent $500million on it.
