I've been editing and publishing a new weekly comic strip on my blog, Antix Press -- DECADES OF (in)EXPERIENCE plays in the same sandbox as Harvey Pekar's American Splendor. Here's the Black Friday's: http://antixpress.com/post/134062398642/thanksgiving-indigestion-black-friday-flatulence

Brooklyn is a beautiful little movie. Highly recommend.

How do you get discount tickets? Costco stopped selling the discount AMC tickets. And I heard that these discount tickets exclude movies by Walt Disney and Marvel.

If I'm completely honest, I feel like I've lost my ability to write. I haven't been able to flow at the level I used to be able to in a very long time.

I know this video is about advertising, but how is this any different than our industry?

Is a World of Warcraft movie cool? Your thoughts.

this was a long time ago and i'm surprised that's still a thing, but it seems like something i would of bought. i wasn't very good at it, so i don't know if that's any indicator of if everybody will like it. probably will crush over in china. overall, i think i could settle into it. the trailer didn't overload you with a whole lotta action, so it looks like they're trying to invest in the story. i'd say seems cool.

rings and the cgi monsters looked like they were probably as best as they could get. not too convincing. don't know any of the actors or characters so i wouldn't have that moment where you recogize them for the first time which is the whole point of these movies. i'm more of a bring books to life kinda guy, y'know where you already know the storyline but you look to catch the differences, but again, can't do that here. i used to play hollywood stock exchange as a kid so th...

my old roommate used to play this game from sun down to sun up. made me quit playing video games cuz i knew i would never be that committed. it seemed kinda stupid. from a distance graphics weren't omg, and i didn't think all of the constant screen rotation was that great, so i've never played. but definitely people are obsessed with it and it's been out for a while, so i'd say it's appropriately due to hit the big screen. from the trailer it reminded me of lord of the...

So I ended up winning best comedy feature at Austin. I'm still trying to process the whole experience, but I can't say enough good things about the festival!

I often wonder what studio execs are thinking. Am I the only one who is not surprised that movies like Burnt and Our Brand is Crisis are flops?

i don't know my point. i hadn't assembled a presentation for this fictitious meeting. but, off the cuff, i'd go with shouldn't be made at all. remembering back, i think i used release as an all encompassing term. didn't think and still don't know if people are aware of canned movies. basically, people assume if something gets made, it gets released.

i think some that go nationwide are better bets than others. you can kinda look at the selection and know yup this will do well and this other one’s definitely doesn’t have a wow factor. being me, i would tell the studios that they may make poor judgements about what they release and show ‘em examples for my point, but that has to be obvious anyone would do that. super sure. they probably have some method of deciding, but to outsiders it is unclear.

So KRAMPUS is rated PG-13... I'm thinking that had something to do with the R-rated CRIMSON PEAK failing and the PG GOOSEBUMPS doing pretty well...

God...I wanna read Paul Sanford's script so bad. I'd give my place in heaven.

After reading the reviews for Burnt, I wonder: What's worse, having your screenplay never made? Or having it turned it a terrible movie?

Should I watch Crimson Peak in Imax 3d? I loved watching the last 40 minutes of the Walk on Imax 3D....but didn't think movies like Clash of the Titans really needed it.
