  1. What age did you start writing? I mean actually writing scripts, in screenplay format?

Late comer, I started at around 29. I completed a full script and then it sold immediately.

  2. On phone with producer regarding comedy series. He wants us to cut down on the drama, but wants "drama like stakes" in the pilot. #WTF

Translation: he doesn't know jack shit so tell him to go fuck himself and rip the contract out. See his reaction lol

What about them fighting a giant spider in the season finale?

  4. Added brand new graphic novel art by John Higgins + your first taste of our soundtrack! A revolution is coming! http://kck.st/1AUqt7Y

  5. So in the new STAR WARS trailer, why does Luke say "My father HAS it..." implying Vader is still alive?

  6. Hey guys. Got a bunch of A-list agents waiting for the english version of my script before a fortnight. Any advice on whom would be best to fast track typos corrections of 110 pages in about two days?

LOL, Cannes is coming, so fingers crossed for an attachment -- maybe more.

  9. Yay! My script reading should explode! I just bought a Kindle DX.

  10. Just spent a full day reviewing my short film shots with Prometheus VFX wizard STRAD -- who's gonna put his magic into effect to make it look even BETTER. 20 days left to deadline!

  11. Hey! My Lovely DP lighted another short before Rêve de fer, and it won this week-end the best short film #Cesar2015 (equivalent of Oscars) award!

  12. Anyone here have some North Korean contacts? Would really like to read Spectre :(

  13. New iPad EXTREMELY light and thin. Perfect for reading scripts with one hand. Compared weight to original mini and it was barely heavier. But, full size screen viewing without needing a stand for thickness or weight. Cool!

I have the precedent generation, no worry, just pointing out they have a bit less autonomy.

  14. Copyright question for you guys. I was thinking of (loosely) basing a script on one of Isaac Asimov's short stories which is, of course, copyrighted. Anyway I can use it? I'm not planning on stelling or anything, probably just put it on YouTube.

Fan fiction is tolerated. You have Marvel and DC fanfix all over youtube, they won't sue you unless you make 5 millions views.

New iPad however as less battery life than predecessor, but recommanded for reading scripts :)

  16. If at first you don't succeed, make another Green Lantern movie, because WHY WOULD YOU TRY AN ORIGINAL CONCEPT INSTEAD?

    1. David Fakrikian

      David Fakrikian

Guys, producers just want to make sure their movie get made. They would do originals if originals would get financed. They don't, so they rehash things instead.

  17. Are we allowed to submit a short film workprint in the WIP section?

  18. Can anyone suggest a script or film that's set in San Francisco? Besides Basic Instinct. Thank you!

  19. Very excited! Looks like I have a literary agent for my kid lit book!

  20. 45 spec sales this year. What does that tell us?

  21. Pinch me -- My project is on Yahoo News they're talking about the forthcoming film thought the script isn't on the market yet! https://t.co/Uj9v4aSrXg

LOL, thanks. I think it's interesting to promote a spec via a short film, we will see how it goes.

It's a transmedia project so there is the graphic novel(s) by John Higgins too which are prequels to the movie.

Yes PJ the short is set in 1794. The film is set in 1800 and there are flashbacks from the revolution in it, it forms the backbone and resonance of the story.

  24. story endings with protagonists walking away from camera, resuming an argument or banter or repartee? It seems like a convention (like riding off into sunset), yet I'm stuck for examples.

  25. Edge of Tomorrow is really great, original sci-fi. Highly recommend!

Matrix is Dark City done manga HK style. Aliens is Starship Troopers and Starship Trooper is Aliens. Robocop is Terminator and Terminator is Outer Limits. The only difference is the talent behind them all. What makes all those unique?
