Know of any scripts that have a serious tone where one character has a profound admiration for the main character like Shawshank Redemption?
-
My script, Mother, is being featured on the Black List site! Glad to see the rewrites paid off. Hoping the rest of the year is as great for everyone!

Really not sure how to feel about American Hustle. On one hand, I admire the theme of the story and the ambition of the storytelling; on the other hand, it feels like a hot mess and is just not as satisfying as it should be.

Man, it felt exhausting getting through Wolf of Wall Street. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

A lot of movies coming out tomorrow and already out in theaters. Going for a double feature besides the Wolf... any suggestions.

Much thanks to Kristen and Ted for the clickity-clicking. All the TB Colors for, well, being you. And a special congrats to Mr. Dollar for making both lists (equally of import). And to each and every member here, may the coming year find you all safe, sane-ish, and as near to your dreams as you can be.

Congratulations to all of you who made The Hit List!!!

DD CONGRATS on making the blacklist!!!!!

I'm eleven episodes deep into MASTERS OF SEX and its fantastic. This is filling the BREAKING BAD void just nicely.

Scorsese needs a new editor he trusts. WOLF OF WALL STREET suffers from its length and just about every scene runs too long, sapping the film (and audience) of its energy.

Watching a show about mental health issues and emotional disorders is interesting and all but I'll admit I do miss the days when Homeland was about the CIA and espionage.

Can anyone recommend any good (feature) procedurals on the server?
-
Anyone been reading about the self-promoting Die Hard 6 writer? His story is crumbling like an Inception construct...

Say you have a character who is stuttering. Do you write the dialogue like he's stuttering or do you leave a note and let the actors do their job?

Can someone recommend something laugh-out-loud funny for me to read?

What do you think about an inciting incident on pg 16? Is it too late?
-
i typed something out but it was all wrong, haha.
opie is saying if you push your inciting incident up earlier, to say pg. 8 or 12, you can shift the extra "set up scenes" you had to cut to make it work, to later on in the first act after the catalyst, and they might even benefit now because you've got the added drama with the inciting incident having already happened.
