  1. Vacations over, it's time go job hunting. Anyone need a PA?

  2. While I came into this forum as a writer... it appears my 'talent' may lie elsewhere. Hmmm

  3. Read a fantastic bio-script, A BOY AND HIS TIGER. Really enjoyed it! Best bio film I've read since MUPPET MAN.

  4. Finally saw Prisoners - totally called what they were going to change with re: the finale. Woot, Woot! Go see it if you haven't already!

While I understand the frustration that must come with getting constantly criticized by such an established fanbase, Orci saying "As I love to say, there is a reason why I get to write the movies, and you don’t." comes off a bit douchey doesn't it? http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Star-Trek-Darkness-Writer-Bob-Orci-Kindly-Tells-Fans-F-k-Off-39385.html

exactly! my first thought was, "man mr. orci, don't even waste your time with that stuff." he's got more important things on his plate I'm sure.

By the way I do think Into Darkness had big story problems. But I also think Orci had every right to tell other critics he was fine and proud of the work he did.

My point was the people who are ripping endlessly on Orci could not have done better. Obviously there are better writers actually in Hollywood, but they're not the ones taking shots. Orci doesn't owe excuses or apologies or promises to any of those kinds of people from the online groups. He could have been more polite about how he called them out, I agree with that. But he's not wrong.

I'm with Jaco. The vast majority of people who say they could do better, cannot. In fact, if there are writers who COULD have written a better Into Darkness than Orci - they wouldn't have the time nor the ego to have to proclaim it on public forums across the Internet. They're too busy writing instead of complaining.

Nah, opinions are still opinions when it comes to issues of psychology. But mine is that most of you are exaggerating and trying to stack thin arguments on top of each other to make them seem stronger as a whole, because you are extremely passionate about the show and are having a hard time being objective. I know the feeling, I get this way about Mad Men when my dad calls it a soap opera. But again, we can just agree to disagree. We all should be writing anyways!

ha! well i don't know if i'd say BB actually jumped the shark, i still love the show... but that was funny.

thanks sbbn - the betrayal stuff would hurt, i def. agree. being lied to for so long and directly by your own family member, etc. etc. it would definitely be a big emotional blow to hank and marie. but i still don't think that really has much to do with their violent, hateful reaction. it just seems like the writers want us to feel instead like walt committed...

...feeling of betrayal would not justify his attitude either. If Walt had been the one who FIRED that gun which nearly paralyzed him, and Walt had MEANT to do it - then I could buy it. That's how revenge works, you screw me, I screw you. But it was the Salamanca brothers, and Walt wasn't even there. Unless you say Hank is completely off his rocker and just hated Walt to begin with, I don't buy his reaction. But of course, other people are okay with it. Other people are not. Just t...

Like I said, I'm definitely not the only who feels this way. It's probably one of the most brought up complaints about BB this season apart from Jesse's change in character, from what I've read.

And yes, Marie's vigilante mission against her sister is totally ridiculous. Hank's obsession with the Heisenberg case has nothing to do with it. In fact, he just found out who Heisenberg is! There ya go, obsession over. Courtesy of Walter White even. Hank's...

...again, that's not organic writing, it's mechanical. Which of course is fine, it happens all the time in writing. But for some reason that kind of stuff is just more apparent to me in this final season. Probably I've been spoiled by so much good stuff the previous 4 seasons like you said.

...but you cannot justify their actions based on them being only lied to. At most, in a real world scenario, Marie would simply disown her sister once finding out she had been assisting a drug dealer, though it's more probable Marie would likely try to get Hank to switch cases so he wouldn't have to potentially ruin Skylar. And Hank would probably ask for the case to be reassigned. I know they came up with some kind of excuse for him where it was not possible for him to do that, but a...

No crimes were committed against Hank and Marie. It's Hank's job to bring down drug dealers, but he (and especially Marie) are taking personal offense at the criminal actions of a drug lord which were not directed at or had anything to do with them at all. In fact, Walt has always been careful to protect Hank and Marie in his dealings. Whatever injuries Hank sustained, they were not intended at all by Walt and Hank and Marie of course would know that. Walt and Skyler lied to them, yes...
