  1. You know who needs more work? John Barrowman. Very entertaining. Need more Torchwood in my life.

Can you jump into season 3, or are the first 2 necessary to understand what's going on?

haven't watched yet. Is it awesome, or is Barrowman the main draw?

  3. While I came into this forum as a writer... it appears my 'talent' may lie elsewhere. Hmmm

  4. GOTHAM: A Batman show without the Batman. Intriguing idea, but they've got so much going against them right now it seems silly to even attempt.

I wouldn't say it's necessarily against them, but without Batman it'll be a normal police procedural... where for some reason over the top villains proliferate. It made sense in the Batman movies that he drew these extreme personalities to Gotham. Here, they will be kind of the norm. Unless they focus on the gangs and police corruption that is rampant in Gotham, like in Batman Year One - where there is very little of the wacky villains we know and love.

It would be much more interesting if Batman were a very peripheral part of the show, as he is in the Gotham Central comic book. That way they could still address the themes of what it means to have a vigilante prowling the city, and what the roles of the cops become.

  6. Oh Todd, you're such a gentleman

  7. CAPTAIN CAREW'S COLOSSAL INTERGALACTIC ALIEN ZOO, a fun family sci-fi adventure that won't make adults cringe. Lots of oppty's for plush furry toys for McDonald's Happy Meals. Still available, have producer interest.

  8. I have deleted my post. I wish someone would have PM'd me privatley. This is my first time posting, was not aware of the protocol.

  9. I don't think a episode of television has ever made me feel this emotionally numb.

  10. James Cameron isn't lying when he says that Gravity is the best space film ever made. Simple plot, lean and effective - nice use of theme, music's intense and it's a nail biter. But the visuals, my god. Several members of the audience who partook of herb were freaking out. I can't imagine what they saw but what I saw was beautiful.

  11. Breaking Bad. The "wow" just keeps on coming.

... "watch out." With these two previously established fragile egos faciing off, the only way things could escalate was to all out war.

... his anger in check, and obsessive about one case load. It's not only that Walt led a double life of crime, it's not just that walt used Hank, it's not just that Hank trusted Walt with information sensitive to his case, his obsession, even bringing Walt in on it to help Hank catch Gus, it's not just that Walt purposefully put his life in danger (at least once, in Hank's estimation, when Walt crashed the car head on) but when caught, Walt told him to basically "watch...

The only thing that has felt completely like a "writer's tool" was the use of the walt whitman poems as a clue to Hank. But it's hardly something to take me out of the show. Jessie is sensitive - his reaction to a child being murdered in front of him is enough for me to believe in his downward spiral. When you couple that with Mike's murder, I can see his spiral being focused more and more and Walt. And Hank IS an emotionally unstable character, barely keeping his anger i...

  15. Jonathan Nolan/JJ Abrams team up for an HBO television remake of "Westworld". If you haven't seen Person of Interest, check it out - good news on all fronts as Jonathan Nolan is also directing the pilot.

30 minutes into Transformers I had the first migraine in my life. I can appreciate the snickers reference.

  20. How does Joshua Jackson (Pacey!) keep getting roles? He has the personality and acting chops of lead paint.

Don't talk about lead paint that way. It kills people - so what? Leave it alone.
