Fact: if film schools had acting classes for aspiring directors and writers, their films would be much better. Fact.

Usually, whoever wins the DGAs (GRAVITY) wins the Oscar for 'best picture,' but all year I've been hearing that 12 YEARS is a lock for best picture. What do you guys think?

The lack/snub? of names and films this year is mindnumbingly confusing. I mean, The Book Thief gets one nom, original score (John Williams)? Michael B. Jordan gets nada? I guess this IS the most subjective industry.

My first ever screenplay just got a 7 on the black list!

Love it...

Just wondering what is up with people asking for screeners for films that are currently in the theaters. I mean, can't people spend the 10 bucks and support our industry?

Scorsese needs a new editor he trusts. WOLF OF WALL STREET suffers from its length and just about every scene runs too long, sapping the film (and audience) of its energy.

I think a current Scorsese movie is STILL better than most movies out there. The problem we have is that we expect masterpieces at this point and bemoan the lack of another Mean Streets, or Raging Bull, or basically everything he made up until the early 90's. The man is still an amazing craftsperson. Just my two cents...

Question: I'm looking for screenplays in the vein of Roman Polanski's Repulsion: relatively contained, psychological horror/thrillers with small casts. Also any movies you can suggest similar to Repulsion? Psycho and Black Swan came to mind though they aren't exactly like Repulsion they do exist in a similar plane (main character struggling to maintain their sense of sanity/losing their sanity, etc. Thanks!

Absolutely loved the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" trailer. Character focused and emotional.

TBers who use tablets to read scripts on (iPad, Kindle Fire, Galaxy Tab) How has your experience been with it? Does it hurt your eyes to read off something like that for extended periods of time?

For the sake of discussion, how would you even protect yourself against something like this? http://www.thewrap.com/elysium-director-neill-blomkamp-sony-producers-sued-copyright-infringement/

I really like Max's writing and his style but... man, that interview was something else. Wouldn't want any women I know near him.

Go see Gravity, in 3D, on the largest screen possible.

As someone who regularly questions his sanity and abilities in this uncertain and often agonizing endeavor, I'd like to extend a big, blanket loving thanks to all you TBers who have shared your work here. With so many stories around us, just sheer numbers, it's easy to forget that every screenplay is in some ways evidence of a battle. Proof its author tangled with the abyss, and emerged to write another day. Presenting it to the world then takes a whole other kind of courage.

Great ending. Much better than "cut to black..."

You know who needs more work? John Barrowman. Very entertaining. Need more Torchwood in my life.
