How did you get it? Every time I click the story it just shows me the advert for it telling me it will be out today.

  3. Seems like there have been a spate of sales the past few days.IPO MAN, KILL THE MESSENGER, FALLING OUT OF HONOR, DARK MEADOW, HOt STUFF etc. Are these specs?

Well put on the OWAs. But IPO is based on an article, Hot Stuff a comic, and Dark Meadow a game (and a casual gamer game at that), so I'm hoping no one wasted their time specing them without securing the rights first. Me, I'm holding out for Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Most of them are listed as OWA's, so I'm voting no on being specs.

  5. Say you have a character who is stuttering. Do you write the dialogue like he's stuttering or do you leave a note and let the actors do their job?

Tough call. I say do it like saying (filtered) for a phone conversation: Do it the first time then assume the reader is smart enough to add the stuttering/ phone sound in for the rest of them. And maybe again if there's an important scene where he's speaking.

  6. I need some pilot script (or already shot) recommendations for a weekend read. Sound off...

  7. for dialogue-- I'm trying to think of a situation where the training is worse/more grueling than the actual thing that's being trained for. Any ideas?

Pretty much you have a fight camp where you train all day, every day with no distractions (read: family). Add the nutritionist there to regulate your diet and the strength training coach, and it's no fun in the least. Makes you look forward to the actual fight just to be done with it. Here's someone bloging about his experience: http://www.myfightcamp.com/

Any fighting sport: 6 weeks grueling training for a fight that only lasts 15-30 minutes.

  9. Apparently foreign distributors are really interested in the horror thriller spec I've been working on this summer and want the script ASAP. Has anyone else had to rush write a script before?

I've got a system that works pretty well for me and have gotten pitch to rough draft in two weeks on several occasions. PM me if you'd like some details.

If chemistry has taught me anything, an acid and a base cancel each other out and make a neutral product. And that's all I gots to say.

  10. Did anyone else see Salinger?

Watched it on Netflix last night and am feeling pretty meh. While the information was excellent, the delivery was oh so breathy and over the top. Felt like it was a long episode of TMZ actually. Started playing suduko midway through, just listening instead of watching, and I think that actually improved the film.

  11. TBers who use tablets to read scripts on (iPad, Kindle Fire, Galaxy Tab) How has your experience been with it? Does it hurt your eyes to read off something like that for extended periods of time?

I use a kindle fire and it works well for pdfs that are text rather than photocopies (if that makes sense). The photocopies are blurier so I have to turn it sideways to read it so it all works out in the end. Really like it alot.
