    I'm sure I'm in the minority here and will probably get crucified for this, but I honestly do not get the hype for Stranger Things. It seems like the more people hype a show up all over social media the more let down I am by it when I finally get around to watching. Props to the writers for getting it going but I just was not engaged. Discuss.

      I enjoyed it too. The brothers knew what they wanted it to be, and they followed through on that promise. Glad it's doing well and most people are enjoying it. Hoping Season 2 is just as engaging. Also, props to those child-actors.

      I played a lot back in the day, from 04-08 or so. It has a huge built-in audience. Probably 20-40 million subscribers since 2004. Even more that play other MMOs and RPGs. I'd bet on it pulling in big $$. Skyrim, Runescape, Everquest, lots of potential worlds out there if this one does well.

      I was hoping it would have more detail about the last episode in the treatment, but I can see why the last two were lumped together. Gives him some wiggle room, there.

      Yeah, the discussion of character often gets lost in how people view Snyder's beat sheet, but fundamentally his sheet is about character metamorphosis. The thing that's different about Nightcrawler is the metamorphosis is really fucking bleak and scary. The beats are still there. But we don't see very much of this kind of negative metamorphosis on screen anymore (at least, not since the late 60's - mid 70's). Most of the time, Hollywood characters change for the bette...

      Rick, the detectives, Mayhem Video -- Lou perceives them all as "bad guys." In Lou's world, most everyone else is a bad guy, even Nina. Lou says it to Rick in that section, one of the best lines in the screenplay. They all threaten his worldview in those pages, especially Mayhem and Rick.

      I don't know Charlie. Looks to me like it stays pretty consistent. Thing about structure is that it's there, even when it doesn't seem like it. At least, in good stories, the structure is pretty consistent.

    Taking a poll here: What's your preference for a character who is not visible, but heard - speaking on the phone (via speakerphone for ex.): (V.O.) (O.S.) or (O.C.)?

      Depending on the context, you could just put INTERCUT - PHONE CONVERSATION and write the conversation without VO or OS. I tend to prefer this.
