  1. Need a comedy spec to read. Tired of reading sci-fi. I mean, I'm not, because I love sci-fi, but I need to read more comedies. Any to recommend?

Smash and Grab by Marc Wolff. An undiscovered gem and one of my favourite scripts, 2009 black list I think, if you can get past the dense writing, then it's a killer script.

  2. While it's certainly not for everybody, I found myself absolutely blown away by Blue is the Warmest Color. The storytelling and dialogue felt raw and unfiltered and the actresses were both great. Highly recommend.

Uhh... What Elliot said, gotta watch those scenes, you know, to um, learn about screenwriting and stuff.

  3. What are some good examples of movies/screenplays with two or three separate storylines that don't necessarily intersect?

Arriaga is one of my favourite writers, depends how you define 'intersect' really. Amores Perros' second storyline zones off into its own territory, but arguably, it's started at the incident. While in Babel, it takes us a while to see how the threads are connected, but Babel's the closest you might get with Arriaga, although I haven't seen his films past 2006.

  5. My first spec since LIFE COPY is getting ready to go out soon. I'm trying to remember to breathe--

  6. Wow, Snowpiercer really blew me away. One of the best sci-fi movies I've seen in years.

I'm actually talking about the film, haven't read the script yet. Is it similar? I despised the ending for many reasons. I think Weinstein also might've had a problem with the final act, it's hard to discuss it without spoilers but I felt the choice at the end was idiotic and selfish and literally made no sense.

Finished it just then, besides a very problematic third act, this is one of the strongest films from last year. Some very cool and awesome sequences.

Terrible news. Was very excited for this when I discovered the release date was only next year. Shame...

  9. I'm looking for great chemistry romantic meet up scenes between characters not comedy- ala the Adjustment Bureau scene in the bathroom with Damon and Emily Blunt. Any suggestions?

Although it was scripted, Naomi Watts' audition scene in Mulholland Drive was definitely something to behold.

  12. Even if you're not a fan of biopics, this one looks like it has a story worth telling

Kind of agree with Dan, don't think Jolie has the chops to pull this off. Acting was abysmally stale by the kids, on the verge of cliche. All in the final product I suppose.

Quick note with Trelby, the margins are off and in need of a good tweak if you decide to go that route. You'll notice it once you import the file.
