I can't recall - does Hank even know the Salamanca brothers are connected to Walt? In my mind it isn't an issue of how badly he was physically injured - it's how deeply he was betrayed. He trusted Walt, he talked to Walt about the details of his job, which in turn helped Walt work against Hank. That to me runs much deeper than the physical injuries. I don't even see it as a revenge play. I see it as Hank is betrayed driving him even more intensely than before to right what...

Gah, I'm so glad they didn't go the route of Hank sitting on the pot, struggling with "internal struggle." Not only has Hank had to come to terms with the fact his brother-in-law in engaged in unconscionable acts of violence and destruction but Walt has fundamentally betrayed him.
