Logline? Wait, you said it was crappy! Pass...:D

  2. Super behind on TV pilots, but I've read a few and what the hell people? 69 pages for a network pilot with VERY TIGHT as your spacing settings? Who are you kidding?

Presumably they intend to cut after the initial draft the network reads, as an excuse to include ideas they could repurpose for later episodes, or to test out characters/plotlines that might be iffy. A TV writer friend told me a good length for a spec pilot is 65 pages. I've seen shooting scripts for recent hour-long dramas (regular episodes, not pilots) that are as short as 42.

  3. I doubt i'll finish the 31,000 words necessary to "win" NaNoWriMo 2015, but it's actually been a lot of fun!

  4. My buddy is the great grand son of the lyricist for The Wizard of Oz and is doing a movie about the music behind the film. Check out his kickstarter! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-sound-of-oz

      Icarus

That is So. Cool. Fun fact: Yip Harburg recycled a lyric that went unused in the film but which survives in the stage production-- "Follow the rainbow over the stream; follow the fellow who follows his dream"-- for a song in "Finnian's Rainbow." This is the only instance I'm aware of in which a lyricist plagiarized himself.

  5. They're filming Silicon Valley at the hotel I'm at. Stood around and watched for an hour. This has been such a cool day.

  14. Script I didn't flip for - I Hope We Can Still Be Friends. Such an awesome premise that was poorly executed and a female character that felt waaaayyy too much like a dude.

Kenny is a great Aussie film - pretty much all about the guy that cleans those toilets you see at festivals. V. Australian humour though - not sure it did too well overseas.
