  1. Say you have a character who is stuttering. Do you write the dialogue like he's stuttering or do you leave a note and let the actors do their job?

      I'm with chando -- include some stuttering in the dialogue so the actor gets an idea of what you're going for. After that it's up to him/her to sprinkle it in wherever they see fit.

      I guess I should add that the character is stuttering only for a single scene which he dies at the end. If that changes anyone's opinion.

      seems like if it's one scene you should spell it out. Check out KING'S SPEECH and see how the writer handled it there. Such a great script.
