pleas, could someone explain to me open writing assignments? along the waye, do you find out more detail from the studios? after you write the script, then what?
Shadow, the stealing of the material isn't all that common (but definitely happens), but the studio bringing in a LOT of writers for a rewrite project happens ALL THE TIME. Some writers are brought in to pitch even though the studio already knows they won't be hired (often based on their quotes).
