      Another vote for Pink's, and that's from a 7-yr Chicago quasi-native.

      Go the touristy route: Philippe's, skip Pink's -- it's garbage, Canter's (if you like 80's hair bands), day drink in Venice Beach (watch out for meth heads) and SM (watch out for tourists), Griffith Observatory, hike the Palisades (better than Malibu and easier to get to), BBQ and watch polo match at Will Rogers SP.
