  1. Anyone taking part in NaNoWriMo?

It's driven me to madness and back several times already. I'm hellbent on getting to 50,000 words.

  2. Question: Do feature comedy specs sell anymore? I can't remember the last one that sold to a studio. Seems like everything is developed in-house or with attachments. Am I wrong?

Thanks so much, Mike. Technically ours does have an attachment, Chris D'Elia. But I think andrewpwoodberry is probably referring to someone huge like Robert Downey Jr. or Will Ferrell.

  3. The review embargo on The Counselor is starting to worry me...

I'm with Mike on this one. I think if you're excited you should just see the movie and then decide if you hate it. I think pre-judging a film based on criticism is frankly lame. Shell out some dough and support a great director, great writer, and a great cast.

  5. Watching Pain & Gain is like eating five Snickers bars in a row.

If by that you mean it was the most awesome night of 7th grade, then yes. Pain & Gain was the most fun I've had at the cinema this year. People were quick to shit on it due to Bay's involvement. The Rock put in some solid work, as did Wahlberg & Anthony Mackie.

  6. Thanks to Johnnie for all the new scripts and the infusion of energy. Keep it up.

  7. So... what's happening?

  8. 'Edge of Tomorrow' (aka 'All You Need is Kill') is going back for reshoots after even more rewriting? How much are you guys planning on butchering this story?

I'm with you Frobisher. "Standin' at the edge of tomorrow... t'day...t'day...t'day"

  11. I'm thinking we do a meet-up in the next few weeks. Anyone up for it?

  12. I'm starting to think we need a new kickstarter that doesn't allow you to post if your networth is over 2 million...Like Slamdance to Sundance!

  13. Is it a problem with ME or what's offered up as an alternative, but, dang, I've got to say that I rather enjoyed watching HIT AND RUN. Seen a lot of negative vibes bounce around this dude, but I thought the chemestry (natch) was really sweet. Made me feel good to hear some sweetness.

  14. THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND. Other movie titles that unintentionally make you think about farts... Go!

  15. Next project: KILLER KILLER WHALES It's Jaws meets Free Willy.

  16. For my birthday I got a chainsaw . . . there's a story here.

  17. Just as I suspected: "...an excuse for ostensibly grown men to drink their own urine, kick around a guy’s severed head and have long, drawn-out arguments about their autoerotic habits in “This Is the End.”" from Variety's review. Pass.

  18. TIMECOP REMAKE should be about someone going back in time to stop the making of the original film so the remake feels fresh.

  19. "Man of Steel" was shot on film. Uh-hells-yeah.

  20. Casting Dennis Leary in 'Draft Day' is genius.

  21. A very big THANK YOU to everyone who sent me engouraging messages or ideas when I mentioned my dry writing spell. This community is awesome and so are all of you.

  22. Hey guys. Could use your help rewiring my thought process. I have always had this fear that if I don't watch alot of TV and Movies all the time, that I will get stale in writing. Yet when I get busy that means I have to allow for writing and watching. I think in these instances I should focus more on the writing, but then I fear my writing will suffer? Thoughts? Wisdom?

  23. Going through a writing dry spell. Almost been a month. Feeling kind of crappy about it. Anyone else ever have a long period of no writing?

Yes. It's the worst. Very sorry to hear you're struggling. Chin up, Charlie Brown.
