I wasn't intending to play. But I tend to have a knack for this. So, why not? I am in.

  11. Does anyone read screenplays on a six-inch Kindle? Trying to help my eyes with the reduced light. How is it? Worth the money?

A lot of deals on iPads, right now. Originally, tried to do the kindle .pdf thing. The fonts and trying to get it to resemble a hard copy script page was impossible. An iPad has been the perfect script reading tool. But, that's only from my personal experience. Best wishes.

  14. Sufficiently annoyed.

  15. New iPad EXTREMELY light and thin. Perfect for reading scripts with one hand. Compared weight to original mini and it was barely heavier. But, full size screen viewing without needing a stand for thickness or weight. Cool!

WebbOfficial, if you are at Burning Man and using a Sears DIe Hard battery to power everything. But with plenty of outlets and back-up battery packs, that argument is from the early 2Ks. Reading and using a stylus or keyboard for fictional content creation has never LOOKED better, or more legible. Just stop in an Apple Store when on an errand; it doesn't work you lose, like 5-15 mins in tech trial time.

Agreed. Definitely going to check out Road Warrior for post apocalyptic survival tips in 2015. But in regards to keyboard, eBay, Craigslist, local Goodwill, or some other thrift place may yield an inexpensive stop-gap. At any rate, best wishes & see you at "Tomorrow-morrow Land".

Seriously, everyone! Check out the Air 2 out at the Apple Store, this or next weekend. This feels like the first real iPad for Writers/Artists to create, enjoy, and evaluate material on a mobile platform. Anything else to me feels akin to a blown up, projection image, blurry iPhone. No more Mini 2, 3... 99 - just Air 2. At least go & play at an Apple Store.

  18. Question on cursing in a single-cam sitcom pilot script: Is it okay if I write in a cheeky *note to the reader* like "the curse words can be bleeped if it ends up on network and if it's HBO, then fuck it and let it ride?" I don't want the reader to immediately assume when they see shits and f-bombs that this has to be pay-cable. They do plenty of bleeping now on ad-supported networks. Seen this done before?

Fugg't, man. I say write it... all over the goddamn place. Then, when you do a rough polish, after you have distanced yourself from it enough, and before you actually send it out to anybody, edit it out.

Don't 4get 2 add in "Explorers" to round out the collection, Chuck. Monster Squad is tight though, "Wolfman's got nards!" I hope you feel better, soon, Chuck.

  23. I used to print up articles about my projects from Varety or THR and have them mounted, but now things are primarily just reported on Deadline. Do any of you print Deadline articles? If so, what's the best way to go about doing that so it's high-res and clean of ads, etc.?

YW, Bell. I find my paper clutter is the contemporary version of the typewriter. When I scan some handwritten notes through my printer to convert to .pdf; retrieving a jotted idea is no longer a scavenger hunt. But, I have to get a lot better at consistently scanning stuff.

But if your eyes don't experience fatigue due to the quality of the graphics, (like, mine do) then the current models should suffice. And I can read them on my 5s phone with an app called "Weekend Read". The crisp layout and the ability to alter the background help immensely.

Hate to put you back in the middle, but... a new one is due with better graphics, soon. Optimized for the new OS platforms - Yosemite and iOS 8.
