It's actually my opinion that SONY knew they had a turkey on their hands and they didn't want to spend $50 million to market it and not see much of that back (once they figured out it was tracking horribly) so they "hacked" themselves and then used the free publicity instead of hard money to market this turd. Why do you think the FBI initially pegged it as an inside job by a disgruntled employee?
Sure to make it look legit they had to throw a few people under...

I'm contemplating a move to a Macbook after not finding a PC laptop I really like. I have a PC desktop, so the laptop will not be my primary machine. I'm looking for portability but need enough power for writing/surfing, maybe some Netfilx. I'd appreciate hearing users' thoughts on Macbook Airs and Pro retinas. Thanks!

Happy Holidays to one and all. Just like to say this consistently stays a great resource. Thanks to all the contributors - Hit List, Black List, FYC scripts, old scripts, spec scripts, TV scripts. Just great. Thank you. Now make sure you read some of the scripts instead of just having a million of them. So much to learn. Never give up on your writing dreams. Never ever.

Which of the last two weeks (and 30 specs) are people liking right now?

Come home from awesome trip with daughter over the weekend. Power up the laptop. Everything is great. Check a few things and leave the room for 20 minutes. Return to find: OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND. Urgh. Lost zero movie scripts as they are all on my I-Pad & In the CG Arc. All TV which I hadn't uploaded to either is gone. Every script I have been writing for the last year: Gone. 550 gigs of Comics: Gone. All lists more or less gone to current updates before 02/11. Fuck.

Not gone. They are still present on the drive, you need to get with someone who does data recovery. The info will still be on the drive platters. What has happened is the drive is most likely not spinning anymore. This happened to my boyfriend and he took the drive out and had somebody recover everything. But is was a bit pricey.
