Admittedly biased but I'm for it. :-) Seriously, professional perspective is important because for producers whether or not to invest in a script is a biz decision.

i mean you don't know if the reader, not you george, is any good themselves. for example, you can read a script and know how the writer writes. there's clues that the writer waits in front of the page for inspiration and that's how he writes. which is fine. but they're gonna miss some things that older, more experienced writers do. and sometimes these weaker scripts get by the readers and the thought-out scripts don't. so you have no idea if the reader has the knowledge or...

is in a mood to judge at a high standard what STICKS. so that's the against argument, but i do agree with you, tyler, that it does weed out utter noobs.
