Its a pretty standalone film, with a few throwback moments but not funny at all like the originals. I liked it.

i didn't think it was comical or clever. i loved evil dead 2, but this just wasn't for me.

Evil Dead 2 is my favorite horror comedy. I don't think that kind of clever is easy to come by.
