    I think I'm using the term PRELAP wrong? I'm using it for a VO that starts before that scene begins. Is that correct?

      I like using prelap to segue into certain scenes. Nothing at all wrong with it under the right circumstances, IMO.

      palostick, I respectfully disagree. OS is if the character is in the vicinity of the scene but not visible in the shot, eg, heard talking from another room in the same house but not seen. If the character is not in vicinity of the scene, VO is more appropriate.
