    Copyright question for you guys. I was thinking of (loosely) basing a script on one of Isaac Asimov's short stories which is, of course, copyrighted. Anyway I can use it? I'm not planning on stelling or anything, probably just put it on YouTube.

      I would actually reference the whole Terminator/Harlan Ellison conflict, and try to err on the side of caution.

      Honestly, that depends on the copyright holder. I remember back in the day, Lucasfilm was really opposed to fan-made Star Wars spinoffs, like the cops/stormtrooper mashup "Troops." They would throw around their legal weight to get that stuff stopped. Eventually, they figured out it was good for business, and now encourage that kind of stuff.
