What are some good examples of a movie/screenplay where a character is an expert at something but had to give it up only to get dragged back to do it once again against his/her will?

Rewatched Swordfish, a bit too over the top especially with that dancing hacking scene.
Someone mentioned Rounders to me last night and I think that might hit the nail on the head.
