@JPR Of course. And who said anything about hating? Aside from Diaz (who is perfectly fine) I'm a huge fan of everybody involved. But let's face it, review embargoes don't exactly inspire confidence.

I'll see it regardless and frankly I was kind of hoping someone who'd seen it would chime in and give their thoughts.

Hell, I'm still obsessed with Prometheus.

I read the "script" when it first was posted and have mixed feelings about it. The cast, crew, and trailer got me excited. But I dunno. The finished product could go either way. I'm hoping it's awesome, but the review "embargo" as Axalon put it has me worried. This is the type of stuff we see with those terrible Adam Sandler comedies, not for movies like this.

Cormac McCarthy is hands down my favorite contemporary novelist but I have reservations about the movie. As any writer knows, writing a screenplay and a novel are two dramatically different things and being brilliant at one doesn't inherently convert to the other. I'm reserving my judgment until I see it but I'm not assuming greatness until I see it.
