    Despite a few minor bumps, Stargate has one of the best first acts in sci-fi.

      haven't watched it in a while but i remember it being a little slow. also i hear the remake wheel is coming around and stargate may get its turn

      I watched it last night for the first time in years. And while the dialogue can be cheesy and some scenes are very heavy handed, the progression of the story is terrific.

       

      Can't believe the movie is almost 20 years old.
