    Really not sure how to feel about American Hustle. On one hand, I admire the theme of the story and the ambition of the storytelling; on the other hand, it feels like a hot mess and is just not as satisfying as it should be.

      I think you're spot on sbbn. If you say you didn't like it there might be a fear of coming off unintelligent or uncultured.

       

      Which I think segues into what Mike said, people don't specify what they loved because they didn't actually 'love' it.

       

      It's the family of four seeing a Broadway show effect.

      LOL. People who say they loved the movie didn't "actually" love it? They only say they did to avoid being shunned by their intelligent and cultured peers? FYI, I saw the movie well before I saw any reviews for it and I ACTUALLY loved it. And since when is great acting not a legitimate reason to enjoy a movie? In addition to that, I thought it was great storytelling and directing, too.

      Stringer I think you're warping what I said.

       

      If you legitimately loved the movie then who am I to say otherwise? I've just noticed that a lot of people I know will decide before they even see the movie that they love it based on who's starring in it or who's directing it.

       

      I should have said "*some* people don't specify what they loved".

       

      And who said anything about shunning?
