  1. I loved Skyfall, it is without doubt up there with my fav films of the year. It is to me, the best Craig one yet. loved Royale, but did get a tiny bit bored at times. love Goldeneye, but Skyfall's better. Love the intro and Adele's song is a fantastic remenisant of old Bond . Bardem's Silva is the best baddie of the last 20 yrs and his nod to Jaws is superb(maybe since Christopher Lee in MWTGG). The films looks stunning. Heres hoping, just like Bond, Mendes will be back

  6. I see the Straw Dogs script is in the file exchnge. But is actually going with that, cos it must be nearly two years since they filmed it. Has it been shelved permently?

Releases later this year from Screen Gems - 09/16/2011 is the temp date on the schedule.

Lurie has proclaimed it the best thing he has ever done. Says the last 30 minutes will rival any truly great thriller climax in recent history. Says Eric Northman is going to be a huge star. Wake me when I am supposed to give a rip.

Wonder if it will rival the last 30 minutes of the original? Why remake this?

  7. I think its good to hear warner bros are removing the cinema scene from gangster squad and re-refilming some thing new.

It pisses me off. That was a fucking cool scene, and we're not getting rid of all shooting scenes now are we? Push it back a few months and let it stand. I live in Denver and they're even thinking of closing down the theatre for good. When did we become such pussies?

    3. ... who are those guys?

      ... who are those guys?

I think if a movie is released right after a national tragedy, and a scene in that movie closely resembles the tragedy then it will make a lot of people uncomfortable. They're not retro-editing an old movie because of it. They're changing one scene in a movie that's going to be released a month and a half after the tragedy occurred. That scene would take a lot of people out of the movie and instead have them thinking of some psychotic asshole whose only stamp on civilization is no...

I think audiences can discern the difference between 1950's gangster fiction and 2012 reality. A scene set in a movie theatre is meta proof of that difference. Anywsy, right now doesn't matter...movies are "forever" and should be thought of that way.

  8. I was really pleased to hear that Prometheus is going to be a Smashing 15 here in the UK and R-rated in the US. Means no cuts or edits. It will be viewed the way Ridley intended it to be.

  9. I would just like an opinion on some, or a title, for the script I've been working on since I got my coverage back 3 months ago. The reader described it as Taken meets The Departed. It was called Black Sambas. Here we go: The Supremacy Project, Project Supremacy, Deeds of Deception, When Corruption was King, Bullets of the Dishonored, Once We Were Enemie to name a few. I will upload the 1st 50 pages tomaz. Would like people's thoughts. Must have done something right for the reader to X...

Departaken? =) What's your logline? Theme? To me a great title works on multiple levels so knowing more about the story would help. Otherwise they are just titles and IMO all (minus Black Sambas) feel bland / generic. You want a title that only fits your story. Congrats on the consider!

  10. I've just uploaded a 32 page sample of the script I'm working on called Die Today To Live Tomorrow. If you guys can have a gander and tell me your thoughts, I would be most grateful. This part of my film influenced by many things, but in particular the hospital shootout scenes from Hard Boiled and the Matrix..

  11. I've just uploaded my script, Black Sambas, into the Work In Progress section. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  12. I've seen casting sides on Showfax for a film called Viral from Casting guru Nancy Mayor. Would be for Dustin from here's Viral or is there another film by the same name coming out? Just curious.

  13. If i upload a partial segment of a script i've benen working on. Would some give me some feedback on what they think? Its not quite finished, but will be in a day or so. I'm obviously not going to put the whole thing up. Just to give people a basic outlay: Its about a LA Detective who comes to home to find his wife and child have been murdered. And when his partner is found dead, he blamed for the deaths. So He teams up with the Daughter of one of LA's most notorious mobsters and ...

Absolutely feel free. I know a lot of people here share their work. You can upload it to the F/E and put a post about it in the "Showcase" thread below, which you can link to one another.

  14. In the Iron Man 3 trailer, is that possibly an appearance from the HULK? Hogan is lying on the floor with an Arc reactor attached to his chest, but when he looks up a massive hands seems grip the destroyed confines and he looks suitably scared. Also, someone is walking through the same room in a previous clip with badly torn trousers? Just a thought.

  15. is it a bad thing that my script is now currently only a 78 pages. at some point today i will be uploading the first 30 pages of my script, Bullets of the dishonored in a bid to gather you guys thoughts before i send the whole thing off for coverage.

  16. it will be an interesting to see how homefront plays out. Never thought id see the stath and James Franco in the same film.

  17. Judging by the trailer, Dark Shadows isn't at all what I thought it would be. I was expecting, a dark gothic tale, with a little bit of horror thrown in for good measure. But it seems Depp, Burton and co have a more campish, comedic take. I doesn't bother me either way, as Iike the look of it and will watch it regardless. Just abit surprised by the direction of the film.

How are you surprised? Burton has been mostly camp lately.

  18. Just got back from watching Scream 4. And I have to say, i liked it alot, but wanted to like it a little bit more. Yes, it was abit cliched, and yes, while pretty good, the finale could've done a few fresh ideas. But overall, a step up from the poorly written Kruger 3rd film. With Williamson back, it has someone that can actually deliver a good script.

I thought she played the part really well and was on good form. Only thing against her was i thought towards the finale some the acting was a little over the top. but thats a small gripe. I liked her in 4.3.2.1. And being in a franchise like Scream will only enhance reputation.

Saw this last night. I didn't like the opening, but the rest of the film ranged from 'meh' to 'very good.' Much better than Scream 3.

There is going to be a UK website selling a Trilogy screenplay book, with storyboards (similar to the Inception one in 2010). It is also being sold as a Kindle book on Amazon.com

  20. Just quickly blitzed through some casting sides(about 20 pages) for Evil Dead remake. It definitly seems like a lot is being borrowed from the original, with some new bits thrown in here and there. I do like a part when the girl looks into the mirror, pokes her tongue out and is horrifed when it splits in two like a lizards. Seems like they've just started looking to cast the main 3 roles, David, Olivia and Eric.

  21. Just saw the new Spider-man trailer. CANNOT WAIT. I had high hopes, and it hasn't let me down. Already saw a six-minute reel last summer at big screen(a snipet of which is included in trailer where the Lizard bursts from the sewers in the girls bathroom, starlting two high schoolers). But all the new footage has made me even excited.

It can join Phantom Menace 3D in its midichlorian device. And my complete lack of interest. Zing!

  22. just seen a new tv spot for dark knight rises about minute-long which shows some new footage, including catwoman there watching Batman and Bane battle it out on the catwalk in sewers. Also, nearly ready to send my re-write of my script, Bullets of the dishonored to tb coverage.

  23. just seen msn uk's snipet of footage from dark knight rises. Man, that brawl between Batman and Bane, and his henchmen against the Gotham police on the city hall steps looks so crazy. And at least you get a look at Gordon-Levitt in cop outfit + Miranda Tate

  24. Just seen simply scripts.com have added the links for the companies who want their Scripts for your consideration for Oscars, Including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy(Dec 17 2010 draft), Martha Marcy May Marlene(undated), Machine Gun Preacher(30 Sept 2010, Final Shooting), Pariah(Undated), Shame(undated) by Steve McQueen,Beginners(Undated), Bridesmaids(undated), The Debt(mar 29, 2009), The Descendants(Apr 11, 2010 draft), Jane Eyre(Undated), Warrior and Win Win.
