  1. Awesome Manchester derby. Didn't know Tom cruise was a soccer fan though.

  2. Anybody know what big script Carson Reeves is giving out for book reviews?

2007 based on a franchise? Is that the rebooted Jack Ryan? It's hardly top secret though.

  3. Anyone see Killing Them Softly? Is it really ‘F’ CinemaScore worthy?

Saw it. A friend leaned over and whispered: "It's the equivalent of a 12-year old virgin writing bondage porn". It was pretty posturing.

  4. I laughed out loud at The Black List "but we didn't know he was our intern" press release.

Either it's a scam and there was a prior relationship that got the person the internship and CAA. Or the company is run by morons who didn't do a background check on someone they were attaching their names to in a press release. Either way.

  5. Sorkin's description of the structure for his Steve Jobs script sounds interesting.

  6. The trailer for Side Effects (aka This Bitter Pill) was hysterical to me, because I know what happens on page 40ish...SPOILERS IN COMMENT

  7. Someone should write a spec called KEPT UNDER WRAPS.

  8. Hope A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT is the start of a hilarious new trend for spec titles.

  9. A neighbor has somehow attached his computer to my wireless printer. And of course it's script pages.

  12. I know there's a glut of President in danger scripts but I'd really like for someone to write one where the debate stand-ins save the day. http://tiny.cc/qj6llw

  13. Question: I prefer printing out scripts and reading them in a variety of places. How do YOU read scripts - print copy, computer screen or Kindle-type tablet? The Kindle Paperwhite sounds intriquing, but it's just too small for my desired experience. Is there a simple, 8 X 11 PDF reader out there?

Computer, phone, ouija board. No paper because I'm dependent on FIND. I think the Kindle DX is the largest e-ink device.

  14. really glad i didn't read the script before i watched Cabin In The Woods. what a genius and original film. Without doubt one of the best horror films in recent memory and one of my fav films of the year.

  15. Over 100 new OWAs just hit the OWA forum. Get em while they're hot!

  16. Always bothers me when I see an AMAZING Indie film, then find out the budget was five million dollars. Yeah. Indie. I'm looking at you Taking Shelter.

  18. Best figures one can find suggests the WGA registers over 70,000 pieces of material each year. That translates into 70,000 query letters/E Mails, 70,000 screenplay competition applications, etc. Remember that when crafting your script and wondering if it needs another rewrite. Because the answer is: yes.

  19. Young and Hungry 2012 list up, wooooo!

Too much like the first round in a beauty pageant. But a top 5-10 would mean someone had to make an actual choice.

  20. As I get ready for my LA move, someone suggested signing up for Extras Management or Central Casting to make money while I look for a job and network. Is this a good idea? Experiences?

  21. Had a conversation about how to judge if your film is a flop or not. It took weeks for someone to bother to post a pirated copy of The Raven on the internet.

  22. As I prep for a move to LA, I'm looking for living suggestions. Thoughts? On a budget (i'm quitting my job to move), but I want to be close to the "action" and hopefully get an internship or a PA job right away. Thanks in advance!

  23. A 1/3 of all US movie ticket buyers have dropped off the grid this weekend? Anyone here actually planning on seeing anything?

  24. Anyone else watching the Olympics and finding the primetime show adverts more embarrassing than usual?
