IMDB pro is inexpensive and relatively accurate (it accepts updates made by the people+projects listed, so it's dependent on their fact checkers). It's useful if you want to see who represents whom & sometimes has contact info for crew -- I use it religiously as a freelance PM. It does not allow a search by city/state or project status -- i.e., it's useless if you're researching potential jobs in the works.

Due to the fact that they are in essence advertising and trying to drive business home, they keep their databases and lists updated fairly regularly. Least the more regional hotbeds. Simple google search pulls most up. Good luck.
