      Less about money and more about consistency. Most writers can't write the same script for over a year. He tired. Happens all the time. The writing process -- especially on a film due 15' -- must have been exhausting. Fresh eyes is often the best thing.

      That's not what happened. Arndt commands upwards of a million per script -- he's swamped by offers, and left to do those. JJ and Kasdan have been writing for six months at this point. Old news to those involved.

      Not what I meant. In part, Salinger had a large female audience, particularly because of the back cover (which was unheard of). He was deeply interested in younger women, which could have easily been more explored, but the film chose a far different route. Also: why the recreations that serve little purpose? It felt very exploitive.

      I did. I'm mixed. On one hand, Salinger is endlessly fascinating--in part because of his handsomeness--but the documentary failed to touch on his darker side, ultimately leaving little depth within the actual picture itself.

    TBers who use tablets to read scripts on (iPad, Kindle Fire, Galaxy Tab) How has your experience been with it? Does it hurt your eyes to read off something like that for extended periods of time?

    Finally saw Prisoners - totally called what they were going to change with re: the finale. Woot, Woot! Go see it if you haven't already!

      The ending is brilliant. Gyllenhaal's performance is one for the ages -- stark, brutal, efficient but caring at the same time. I smell a nomination -- and barring any last minute upsets -- perhaps even a win. Very Doyle-esque.

      Two? Absolutely not. Try, like, ten. And you better be ready to toss around multiple ideas, including ones you've already mapped out completely. He's a nice guy, but tough in a room.

      Brooklyn does a little of both. He'll work with a writer, really testing them out for a while, and then may decide the relationship may not work. However, it could also work out the other way, with Tranquility Base being an example of this.

      That's correct. Brooklyn works with a LOT of people, and then hopefully develops them thoroughly enough for a sale.
