Flipping through the script has me wanting to rewatch it. It's so raw, and my memory of the film is that it was too, and it's just kind of the beginning of it all. Maybe nostalgia, but I think it fucking rocks!

  3. And then that happened. Remember people, always, always, ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR WORK. Computers have a tendency to die. Mine did. Writing is fun.

Did you lose something major? Sorry to hear this happen to you. I think we've all had this happen at some point in our lives and it's never a good feeling.

The one thing I did lose, and am most depressed about, was a script I had just started and was going to post the first 10 here for feedback and whatnot. Now, that ain't happenin'. It is still fresh in my grey matter, so that'll help. Other than that, I only lost what i didn't back-up since January. Lessons are fun to learn. I'm going on a weekly back-up now, PLUS, I'm sending everything I write to my email for now on, on a daily basis. :)

They have some sort of partnership going on with Twitter so I'm guessing that this twitter thing is motivated more by financial incentives than "this is a fucking brilliant idea!"

  5. Boy oh boy, effing FOX... not only is their news division bullshit, so is their programming people. Really? Ben and Kate cancelled? Suck my what, Fox!

Yeah, they're idiots, I love Ben and Kate. The cast is hilarious and has so much room to grow. I've tried to watch Raising Hope and just can't get through five minutes.

Well, Nat Faxon has an oscar and just got $10mil for he and Rash's The way, way back at Sundance... it sucks for Ben and Kate ... but Faxon and company will not be crying over their wads of new cash

  8. Damn shame if that's the last "On The Slate"... Mike, it's something I look forward to every week. What ever it is you're doing, or what ever is up, I'm sorry to see you go. Hopefully not though, right? Right. But thanks, man. It's been a rare and true honor to have been a reader. Here's to you Mike. :)

  12. Hi folks... may I ask that for now on whenever you post a script in the File Exchange, even/and especially if it's an ISO fill, that you add a logline just like K. Ryans (and pretty much everyone else) does. It would be greatly appreciated, because I'm getting tired of downloading the script(s) only to find out it's a piece of crap unworthy of even using at the bottom of a bird cage. Like I said, I would greatly appreciate it (and I'm sure a lot of others too). Thank you. :)

Never been so emotionally invested in a TV pilot script.

  14. I just read The Fault in our Stars (the screenplay). And all I have to say is WOW. It's not often a script brings emotions out of me, but this one definitely did. A must read, if you haven't yet.

  18. I've come to the conclusion that attempting to find and DL evry script from every BL from '05 on is a GIANT WASTE OF TIME. Plus, I'm lazy. So there's that too.

Don't most years have Zip files? I haven't downloaded them all but I remember them floating around.

Missing a few here and there. More there than here.

  19. If you haven't read "Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" yet, do yourself a favor and read it. It's a winner. My favorite by far out of both the Black and Hit lists. So there's that. :)

The one I have in my 2012 BL is the Pickering script. Perchance that's a mistake? If so, shite! Sorry. It's still a brilliant story well told. *shrug*

    4. craktactor

      craktactor

Just checked... yeah, I read the Pickering, not the Hogan (didn't have it). Oh well. I stand by my original opinion (just for the wrong year). :P

I watched Cuckoo's Nest last night. What an amazing film. Why don't they make them like that any more?

Compare it to this year's Best Picture winner.

      Reader George

Caught Cuckoo's Nest a few weeks ago and wish I hadn't waited so long to see it again. So brilliant. Why don't they make them like that anymore? Risk aversion seems to be the persistent trend. I was joking with some friends the other night that somewhere right now there's an executive wondering aloud if the characters in The Fault in our Stars can be vampires.

  24. Much thanks to Kristen and Ted for the clickity-clicking. All the TB Colors for, well, being you. And a special congrats to Mr. Dollar for making both lists (equally of import). And to each and every member here, may the coming year find you all safe, sane-ish, and as near to your dreams as you can be. :)
