I think Andrew's right. Personally, I'm glad they tried to do adult dramas, even if the results were mixed and the reception was cold. Steve Jobs isn't doing well either at the box office, but it's not because the critical reception has been tepid. I read one article claiming that all three flopped because they were a rehash of "white people problems". Maybe. There's a whole slew of reasons why, the biggest being that TV is now the home of the mid range budget...

... drama. Film studios seem to be less and less interested in these stories except to for award contenders, which, I think, was how all of these were conceived -- and with Steve Jobs rightly so -- before the public shunned them.

I was talking to Stringer Bell, not you, Ad. And we're not fictitious. I was asking SB because I also agree that any adult films in the marketplace are welcome at any time. Of course, some are not going to do well, but I would rather see the studios take chances on real stories than see another superhero movie. It's like living on jellybeans alone - it's not good for you.
