  1. So can I assume QT isn't looking for notes on Hateful Eight?

  2. Finally decided to renew my membership and it feels nice to be back. Just noticed my last post was in Feb. Quick question has the Full Avengers script ever surfaced or the Skyfall one? I've got Art of the Avengers which has several pages of the script and the book Bond on-set - filming Skyfall which also has about 10 pages of the shooting script. Love how the train scene and the Skyscraper fight scene was written.

  3. Just read a rumor that to compete with Marvel, WB is going end their DC comic films with cliffhangers. Why on earth would ANYONE think that's a smart idea?

  4. So I'm hearing that the Hateful Eight script that is out is actually Seth MacFarlane's western.

...people are talking about exploring character in a negative light? It's not indulgent but what had to happen: you need fall out exploration for the series 2 finale. The premiere is the weakest episode, yes - but episode 2 was a return to form/focus on mystery as well as balancing character. Anyway, wait for the finale - heard nothing but great things.

ilding franchises rather than establishing themselves as the quality supplier of well told one-offs - except Fox, which cancels everything based on numbers so I'm pretty sure that's unintentional.

have shows that are greenlit solely on genre or idea based grounds that do not have the material necessary for long term sustainability. Such shows are doomed to failure because the writer's room doesn't have a story to tell after a handful episodes. The trick, William Potter, is to not greenlight shows that lack sustainability for a full season of 13-22 episodes. Some concepts work better as limited engagements but Networks won't get behind it because they're so focused on bu...

Well, I think there's merit to both formats. Sherlock's format would not work for every show as it is often seen as small pod of movie like trilogies.

The reason the American format fails oftentimes is that some writers rooms wing the story - writing it as they go along. Either that or weak show runners are put in place and there's a failure to construct a story that is both true to the fundamental idea of the show and presenting a compelling story at the same time. Then you...

Finale airs sunday and the reviews that are coming out have been great. It's been declared "the best episode of Sherlock hands down."

Fingers being cut off might be more effective - no Spoilers though, just want to see everyone's reaction to the first two episodes!

  12. I really wanted to feel... *something* about what happened to Brody but the lead-up was so poor I was just kind of ambivalent. And what was with Carrie?? For the emotional wreck she's been this season she was oddly calm about everything that went down. Talking with the people responsible for Brody's outcome as though nothing happened. No attempted eye gouging or anything.

Or how about finally coming out and revealing Saul is the actual mole. The leads on Javadi came, literally, from thin air. He was speculating and it absolutely set off the alarm bells. And who gained the most from the bombing? Saul.

Why on earth would they show the money shots early? Nolan's name is enough at this point. Perfect teaser though I'm hoping that speech is not in the final film.

  18. Need help: Can anyone tell me of a movie or tv episode scene where a judge has had to pass down a maximum sentence even when he or she didn't want to because that is what the law requires. Need some reference for a scene I'm writing.

Can't seem to recall, you should go with your gut. But unless the Judge is the focus of the story, I don't see it coming off as more than a description of sympathy as he reads the verdict.

Coz, that doesn't quite fit. Especially given how Arndt was a major packaging point for the Disney/Lucasfilms acquisition. The idea that he just left to take offers on something else is strange, especially given Arndt's love for the property.
