  1. I'm freaking out. I know this happens all the time, but I am about 1 or 2 months away from finishing a script that has the EXACT SAME CONCEPT as another project that was announced in the trades. I am very proud of this script and feel it is the best thing I have written. But I can already hear the rebuttals, and I don't want to waste my time working on something that seems to be dead out of the gate. What would you guys do?

      This happened to me on SWING VOTE and BALLS OF FURY, and both times I dropped the projects, and now kicking myself because what I was writing ended up being totally different from the films that got released. Even had the same title for SV. Lesson learned.

      not tryna be harsh, but if you were gonna let something like that deter u from finishing it, you didnt care much about the piece in the first place
