  1. "The Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer was magnificent.

I agree, Axalon, about the trailers bit. Beyond just hyperactive editing, I'd much rather get a "taste" for the movie or the mood/tone of it than walk away from the trailer feeling like I'd seen an outline for the entire movie, including the ending.

I'm a big James Gunn and marvel fan, so I've been waiting for this and it didn't disappoint. Really fun trailer. Like the way rocket has been captured. Funny thing, Groot only says I am Groot. So diesel isn't going to get many lines. Obviously he did motion capture so he is properly Groot.

Never read Guardians, but was tone always so Giffen/Dematteis in the books? Wish I had now. I loved their JL.

  2. Apparently opening pages from "X-Men: Days of Future Past" have leaked.

  4. Absolutely loved the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" trailer. Character focused and emotional.

      ... who are those guys?

wait, wait, wait... Singer, a downgrade... from Vaughn?

    3. axalon

      axalon

Based on Singer's last few movies? Yes.

looks like too much stuff is going on in the story. too many characters. hopefully it won't be a big mess.

  5. "Gravity" was simply beautiful.

I was wondering about that. I think it could be nominated at least.

Could be Oscar central, I saw it in 3d. Worth it.

  6. Watching the few seconds of Amy Adams as Rachel Dawes makes me wish she was Rachel.

    1. nakedolphin

      nakedolphin

Why? We see the back of her head and she says like 2 lines.

    2. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

It's the execution of those lines. LOL

      sbbn

I agree. But in fairness, I would have preferred Danny Devito as Rachel Dawes over Katies Holmes.

  7. Thought "The World's End" was great. "Hot Fuzz" though still remains my favourite of the trilogy.

Yeah. I know most people pick "Shaun of the Dead" which is awesome, but I love "Hot Fuzz".

Well, I can't be critical of your love for Hot Fuzz - that is a funny, funny movie.

Pierce Brosnan wasn't used as well as Timothy Dalton or Bill Nighy...

  9. excited that "The Voices" is going to be made and with Ryan Reynolds possibly. I wonder who they will cast as Mr. Whiskers and Bosco? :)

      CookieMonster

I really am surprised, pleasantly so, that this one is apparently getting off the ground. Good luck to the promotions folks that have to figure out how to market it. ;)

    2. barryp

      barryp

I agree. It was a good script, but it will require changes, especially when they show the "real" world. Otherwise, they better have those little bags handy like they have on airplanes.

  11. would appear that Affleck has turned down the Justice League directing gig. My pick would be Rebuen Fliescher for the film.

      Cyber Hater

My boy was on set of GANGSTER SQUAD...said Fleischer is out of his element with this one.

  12. So Bryan Singer confirmed yesterday...First Class 2 is indeed "Days of Future Past". So excited!

      twofingeredtypist

It's the one story I would have chosen had I been given the job. Pre-dates The Terminator as well.

  13. "SkyFall" looks absolutely fantastic.

Don't get your hopes up too high, DD. All the action shown is in the first ten minutes, very little after that and there's more of the Craig era "personal drama" that makes it as joyless and dark as the last two entries. I think they have forgotten what made Bond special to begin with.

    3. Hasmap

      Hasmap

couldn't agree more with you DD. Looks brilliant. Love the cheeky touch with the cuffs. And, okay, Solace was rubbush, but anyone who says Casino Royale was bad in anyway, doesn't know anything about Bond movies. Period. Craig is up there with Connery and Brosnan as the tops Bonds. Dalton was not bad. Lazenby and Moore were rubbish.

    4. benskelly2

      benskelly2

Hasmap - There is no such thing as "period" when it comes to opinion, period. Sorry. I have been a Bond fanatic for four decades and I think I know what James Bond is supposed to be. Craig is a fugly humorless thug with absolutely no style, charm, sophistication or wit - all the things that make Bond different from every other grunting action hero. CR might have been the greatest Bond film ever if it just had someone else as 007. Furthermore, I have read the script for Skyfall....

  14. another story about X-Men First Class 2 seemingly going to be called Days of Future Past. Anyone know anything about this?

    1. jmedley71

      jmedley71

it's a classic storyline from the claremont/byrne run on the uncanny x-men comic. a time traveller from the future arrives in the present day to warn mutants about their possible future, which includes mutants being hunted, placed in concentration camps and humanity in general dominated by the sentinels, mechanical mutant hunters.

    2. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

I know what Days of Future Past is. One of my favorite arcs, I'm talking about the story being reported that First Class 2 is adapting it. The latest "news" is out of Russia. No one has confirmed anything about it yet so I've been skeptical.

  15. absolutely loved "The Dark Knight Rises".

TDKR was the most ambitious conclusion to a trilogy ever. It doesn't have to be perfect to be enjoyed. It was a great film.

    3. Escapist

      Escapist

according to the logic of the movie, Bane's in his 50's... or damn near it.

    4. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

It has flaws...no doubt about that. To me though I was entertained enough that I choose to overlook them. Those flaws didn't "ruin" the film for me or make it any less awesome.

  16. thought the "Man of Steel" SDCC extended trailer was much better than the theatrical teaser, but liked the Jor-El voice over one better than than the Jonathan Kent one.

  17. The "Man of Steel" footage made me tear up. So excited for this!

Zack Snyder was literally born to make this movie. Been super excited since Snyder and Nolan were picked to helm this.

  18. "Looper" looks insane!

  19. two weeks until "Avengers" finally arrives. The positive reviews are encouraging.

      Hasmap

I can't wait either, and its got some really good reviews. I'm going on Thurs night to see it. My manager, lucky son of a gun, was given a ticket to go to the London Premiere last thurs. Going to ask what he thought?!

  20. the new "Prometheus" trailer looks breathtaking.

I'm guessing you got to the paragraph starting with REVERSE ANGLE and said forget it?

  24. Benedict Cumberbatch has joined the cast of the Untitled Star Trek Sequel along with Noel Clarke! So far an impressive cast along with Alice Eve and Peter Weller!

    1. Hasmap

      Hasmap

I'm pleased for Cumberbatch as i think he's a really good actor. But Noel Clarke is a no, no. I'm sorry this guy can't act to save his life. Now don't get me wrong, I'm big fan of 4.3.2.1,which is his best work to date. Buy he really is rubbish and shouldn't be in Star Trek 2

    2. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

He is probably only there for a very small role

I'm sure it will be a challenge for Clarke with his Olivier Award to match the range and talent of Chris Pine.
