I was wondering about that. I think it could be nominated at least.

Could be Oscar central, I saw it in 3d. Worth it.

  2. "Looper" looks insane!

  3. "SkyFall" looks absolutely fantastic.

Don't get your hopes up too high, DD. All the action shown is in the first ten minutes, very little after that and there's more of the Craig era "personal drama" that makes it as joyless and dark as the last two entries. I think they have forgotten what made Bond special to begin with.

    3. Hasmap

      Hasmap

couldn't agree more with you DD. Looks brilliant. Love the cheeky touch with the cuffs. And, okay, Solace was rubbush, but anyone who says Casino Royale was bad in anyway, doesn't know anything about Bond movies. Period. Craig is up there with Connery and Brosnan as the tops Bonds. Dalton was not bad. Lazenby and Moore were rubbish.

Hasmap - There is no such thing as "period" when it comes to opinion, period. Sorry. I have been a Bond fanatic for four decades and I think I know what James Bond is supposed to be. Craig is a fugly humorless thug with absolutely no style, charm, sophistication or wit - all the things that make Bond different from every other grunting action hero. CR might have been the greatest Bond film ever if it just had someone else as 007. Furthermore, I have read the script for Skyfall....

  4. "The Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer was magnificent.

I agree, Axalon, about the trailers bit. Beyond just hyperactive editing, I'd much rather get a "taste" for the movie or the mood/tone of it than walk away from the trailer feeling like I'd seen an outline for the entire movie, including the ending.

I'm a big James Gunn and marvel fan, so I've been waiting for this and it didn't disappoint. Really fun trailer. Like the way rocket has been captured. Funny thing, Groot only says I am Groot. So diesel isn't going to get many lines. Obviously he did motion capture so he is properly Groot.

Never read Guardians, but was tone always so Giffen/Dematteis in the books? Wish I had now. I loved their JL.

  5. "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" looks incredible. Teared up during the trailer

  6. "The Hunger Games" trailer was awesome. Very excited for this.

  7. absolutely loved "Source Code".

That was a blast. Duncan Jones is absolutely on fire right now. Sucks he can't get MUTE financed. I would absolutely love to see that thing realized outside of a funny book.

    4. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

Yeah I was really looking forward to "Mute" as well, hopefully the graphic novel will be just as great as the script. It will depend on the artist methinks.

TDKR was the most ambitious conclusion to a trilogy ever. It doesn't have to be perfect to be enjoyed. It was a great film.

according to the logic of the movie, Bane's in his 50's... or damn near it.

    4. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

It has flaws...no doubt about that. To me though I was entertained enough that I choose to overlook them. Those flaws didn't "ruin" the film for me or make it any less awesome.

  9. absolutely loved "X-Men: First Class". Plan on seeing it a couple more times this week.

looks like too much stuff is going on in the story. too many characters. hopefully it won't be a big mess.

  11. absolutely loved the first episode of "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" web series. Looking forward to following all nine episodes.

loved it even if the trailer music has the exact cues as Inception, which seems to somehow has become the new standard.

  13. another story about X-Men First Class 2 seemingly going to be called Days of Future Past. Anyone know anything about this?

    1. jmedley71

      jmedley71

it's a classic storyline from the claremont/byrne run on the uncanny x-men comic. a time traveller from the future arrives in the present day to warn mutants about their possible future, which includes mutants being hunted, placed in concentration camps and humanity in general dominated by the sentinels, mechanical mutant hunters.

    2. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

I know what Days of Future Past is. One of my favorite arcs, I'm talking about the story being reported that First Class 2 is adapting it. The latest "news" is out of Russia. No one has confirmed anything about it yet so I've been skeptical.

  14. anyone know anything about the "Thor" script that was apparantely leaked yesterday on the Comic Book Movies forum then deleted?

    1. benjaminthomasyip

      benjaminthomasyip

I didn't download the script from CBM, but I'm pretty sure it was legit. The CBM user's review and script excerpts matched up with the cut of the film I saw.

      boynotorious

I will read it later and give you guys an idea. Here is the Script Info: 4th Draft. Blue Revisions. Dated 3-26-10. No Cover Page. 191 pages.

No sure if the mods want it posted?

  17. Benedict Cumberbatch has joined the cast of the Untitled Star Trek Sequel along with Noel Clarke! So far an impressive cast along with Alice Eve and Peter Weller!

    1. Hasmap

      Hasmap

I'm pleased for Cumberbatch as i think he's a really good actor. But Noel Clarke is a no, no. I'm sorry this guy can't act to save his life. Now don't get me wrong, I'm big fan of 4.3.2.1,which is his best work to date. Buy he really is rubbish and shouldn't be in Star Trek 2

    2. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

He is probably only there for a very small role

I'm sure it will be a challenge for Clarke with his Olivier Award to match the range and talent of Chris Pine.

    2. DarkDestroyer

      DarkDestroyer

Yeah. There was speculation that Operation Early Bird would unlock the trailer but it just turned out to be a way to order advanced tickets to the IMAX prologue.

  20. can't wait to see "The King's Speech"

  21. dug the page of script that Kevin Smith posted for "Hit Somebody".

  22. enjoyed PA3 more than PA2 but really wants the original arc resolved now. I am calling a PA4 next Oct

  23. enjoyed Scream 4 but thinks studios should not continue to bring in Ehren Kruger.

  24. excited that "The Voices" is going to be made and with Ryan Reynolds possibly. I wonder who they will cast as Mr. Whiskers and Bosco? :)

I really am surprised, pleasantly so, that this one is apparently getting off the ground. Good luck to the promotions folks that have to figure out how to market it. ;)

      barryp

I agree. It was a good script, but it will require changes, especially when they show the "real" world. Otherwise, they better have those little bags handy like they have on airplanes.
