      Do you use it for screenplays? I downloaded a trial version a while back and thought it might be good for a novel, but didn't seem ideal for scripts. I didn't spend a ton of time using the trial though.

    Ever heard this line before in regards to a handgun? "There's twelve in the clip and one in the throat." Raylan said it on Justified, and I've NEVER heard that "throat" reference before, wonder if it comes from Elmore Leonard or a wholly original term from the show writers?

      I second Low Winter Sun, and being a native Detroiter, I usually hate scripts set in Detroit since almost everyone gets the details wrong. This one is excellent.

    Pitch Black and Chron of Riddick made $168 mil total WORLDWIDE and yet they're making a third movie? Do dvd sets of trilogies really do that much business? What's the business plan here?

      It's useful, if you get an 8 or higher. If you get an 8, your script gets mentioned in the Black List email that week. I got some downloads after the 8 rating came in, but very few before that.

      I, too, have a script that got an 8 on The Black List. After the initial email went out, it got some downloads, but then... crickets. I'm not sure how useful The Black List service really is. Better luck with your next potential rep.

    The Incredible Burt Wonderstone was pretty funny. I give it a B; not bad, considering the state of comedy films these days. But if it came out 10 years ago, would it have killed at the b.o.? It wanted to be Anchorman, but there just was no getting around that there's no urgency or relevance in the subject matter. Thoughts?

      I haven't seen it yet, though I worked a few days on set as an extra, and it was a fun set. Buscemi, in particular, was hysterical when I was there. But even as much fun as it was to be on that set, I kept thinking Vegas magicians would have been a better world for a movie 10 or 15 years ago.

    Why does every article about Mixology describe the show as high concept? It's a comedy set in a bar. It's very low concept. Nothing wrong with that.

    TrackingB TV pilot contest final deadline tomorrow, hmm...$95 is a lot of money knowing that my pilot isn't 100%. Then again, will I ever think it's 100%?

    So my spec "Goodnight, Moon Thieves" got an 8 out of 10 by an anonymous reviewer on the Black List site. It's obviously not as good as getting a 9 or 10, but it still seems like I should be able to leverage an 8 to get more people reading it. Any suggestions?
