Agreed. Looks awesome. But does anyone know if Ving Rhames is in the film? Yahoo says he is, but Imdb seems to think otherwise.

No problem, I am just the relayer of the information. Going to upload last season this weekend, then the year prior in the next two weeks.

  13. Just wanted to post this cool contest. Last year's winner got $, repped and had lunch w/ Shane Black. Here's the link: http://www.justeffing.com/2011-screenwriting-competition/ -- and shit this year they are giving away a Tattoo from Kat Von D too if you want it! Crazy!

I'm not disagreeing with you on that point because if nothing is happening in the first 15 pages then you need work on your story and structure but people should that they'll focus on the first 15 before entering and paying hefty sum for 15 pages.

    3. mikeyP_73

      mikeyP_73

Oh I know and I hear you. What I like about that contest is that they are up front about how they judge. I know someone who judges for Austin and they are encouraged to read up to page 20 or 30. So, yes writers should focus on the whole script - because if contest judges/ readers gets past the first 15 and keep going then it better be great all the way up to page 120 right? Last years winner also won Blue Cat. Same script different title I think. Anywhoo. Yep focus on writing a kick ass scr...

      Nic.Lishko

Definitely will. I mean, my hook is obvious from page 1, it just takes 17 more pages to get into :D.

  14. If I see a screenplay with another GD title that has "Douchebag" in it I am going to scream... Maybe I should write a script called DOUCHEBAG - 3D - IN SPACE

My absolute favorite that no one else has singled out is "I'm tired of pretending I'm not special". I love it.

  16. love the Red Band trailer for "Take me home tonight" ... I hope it's good... I think we all need a good 80's like movie these days to make us laugh till it hurts

Saw a screening of it a while back, really loved it. There's some great scenes in there (Demetri Martin kills!) and it doesn't exaggerate the 80s, which I liked a whole lot. Made it feel more real that way. Also, the soundtrack kicks so much ass!

    3. treyselman

      treyselman

"Demetri Martin kills!" i had no idea he was in there. ha. takin' it to 11.

I agree with Blue. I caught a screening of this years back. Or so it seems. The movie was a blast. This might be the first time in history that you should really ignore the long delay.

I agree - great pilot. Curious how they'll maintain that level cost-wise week to week. Only downer for me was that exact plot was done on Covert Affairs last season, which is candy glass by comparison.

Ditto! on the thanks! Of all the boards I'm on, this has the best grid, and pot of them all. Many thanks!

  19. Why wasn't there more animated features up for best animated picture? Only 3? I know TS3 will probably walk away with Best Animated Picture but Tangled should have been nominated too... and also Tron since most of that movie was CGI animated (ha! I kid) - But, I don't think it's fair that a picture gets nominated in two categories and one one category only has 3 other pics in it - am I crazy here?

  20. All Ron Moore had to do is say "Supernatural CSI" and bam his TV show got picked up to Pilot.... Reading it now. It's okay... nothing earth shattering yet just straightforward Cop procedural

  21. Enjoyed Harry's Law last night on NBC - they actually pulled off a smart, funny action packed show like their sister network USA.... I'll give it another go next week. Anybody else see it?

    1. nathanrrr

      nathanrrr

I have seen the first two episodes, it is witty and smart but might not be my cup of tea.

  22. "Iron Jack" by J. Rosenthal isn't on that list - it was a HILARIOUS 1930's broad genre comedy... Sascha Baron Cohen was going to star but it never went anywhere and I think it sold for around $2MM ....
