  6. Went to a PGA Screening of BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD. One word: Wow! Brilliantly touching, yet completely unorthodox film -- with great acting from completely untrained civilians. See it next week. Well worth the price of admission. I put my rep on that...

i can't wait to see this...next to The Dark Knight Rises and a few other movies, this is high on my list of films to watch. And, it should come to my town since Pittsburgh does support indie films and we have smaller indie theatres to show it in. :)

I'm either off to Miami or a private bungalow in the Hollywood Hills...7 days of nonstop writing...then going to Goldeneye (Jamaica) for a week, top of May, to unwind. THEN get busy on my first draft...

Just curious, Prospekt, because my usual complaint re: trailers is that they tell us TOO MUCH of the story. I want the trailer to entice, not spoil. What amount of story are you looking for from a trailer?

perfect amount of story told. So horny for this.

  13. What should I read next..."Double Indemnity" or "Body Heat"?

    1. specwriter

      specwriter

I'll say Body Heat because I actually read it in film school and it's a very solid script. (at least I thought so when I was 20.) I watched Double Indemnity last year and didn't think it measured up to Sunset Boulevard, but what does?

      Cyber Hater

@ Blue: C'MON MAN! That was single handily the dumbest scene in the movie. The idea - awesome. Execution, horrid. 1st thing it reminded me of "Big Trouble in Little China" when the masters battle with 'Laser Warriors' using their pinky's. And the ending...REALLY Blue. Really???

    4. Nic.Lishko

      Nic.Lishko

Agree with TB Blue :D. Dude I went in only to see The Dark Knight Rises trailer and was expecting nothing at all. Thus, it rocked :D

  17. What's the sexiest script you've ever read or can remember reading? Serious answers please

    1. AliM

      AliM

The guy at the copy shop once accidentally printed one of my scripts onto glossy, photo paper. My god, did that shit look sexy! Took my freshly printed draft of 'Vampires Vs Robots 2: The Revengening' straight home and immediately started rubbing my d!ck all over it. But what did it expect? A script lays around, dressed all shiny like that... looks like IT WANTS IT!

Oh, wait. You said "serious answers" only. :P

  20. Read "Grim Night"... Had me until about 80 pages in, then i just wanted it to end already. I hope they didn't pay american dollars for this thing... Even though the $ is worth nothing nowadays... No but seriously, this could make a semi-decent film... ergh...i guess.

      SeeriousTimes

So yes, it was actually bringing in a judgement about how I view your script taste. But positively

    3. SeeriousTimes

      SeeriousTimes

yeah, i did find myself wanting it to end already around that time.

I think the concept rox way more than the actual script -- which I thought ranged from cliche to alright.
