  1. The World's End is the most fun I've had at the movies in a loooooooong time. I loved it.

Ditto - great characters with believable arcs - in spite of the lunacy and madness. This reminds me of how thrilled I was when I first discovered THE HITCHHIKERS GUIDE... WOO HOO!

  2. Just read Tracy Letts' AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY and John Logan's RED - both Tony-winning plays and absolutely exhilarating lessons in how to craft great naturalistic-but-clever dialogue. Maybe, once in a while, we need to read quality plays to remind ourselves just how good dramatic writing can and should be.

Sounds tasty - might you please share? Dialogue is the dickens.

You can read AUGUST for free right here:

Unfortunately, RED I had to buy on Kindle for six bucks and it doesn't let you share. I'm not a big fan of Logan's screenplays but RED is great.

RED is worth the six bucks, so is August Osage.

Really terrific plays, and as you asid benskelly, great to see how good dialogue can be.

  3. What is (or was) "Loomis Fargo"?

This story, as a Hollywood rom-com, with Jim Carrey as the male lead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loomis_Fargo_Bank_Robbery

  4. America...baby, sweetheart. I take back everything mean I said. You're the best.

  5. "Frankenstorm" - Glad this particular horror film is in limited release on the East Coast. Ouch. But hoping for the best for those caught in it.

  6. Nonstop - is a pretty clever title for a flight-centered action film. Surprised nobody thought of it before. Anyone read it? Any good?

It's pretty unrealistic, but if you can completely suspend your disbelief, it's a solid thriller.

Is it up here? If not, any chance? Thanks.

  7. Am looking at apps for my iPad to outline stories, can anybody tell me which they think is the best? Storyist, Index Card, Cat?

Its funny, I feel like I've heard 4-5 people tell me about great apps for this... yet I cant think of or find one.

  8. I'm a complete idiot. I have a couple ISO scripts to upload - how exactly do I do that?

      treyselman

Gotta do it in File Exchange.

      Just start a new topic.

Then "attach file" will be below the text box.

      Gracias.

  9. If somebody, anybody, has read SKYFALL, I hope they will give us a breakdown on the story and a review. Here's one Bond fanatic dying to know any tidbit.

  10. Now that the one millionth crappy remake, THE THING, has come and gone - do you think Hollywood will take this opportunity to stop?

I don't think remakes will ever go away, unless the remakes start having bad tracking specifically because they are remakes.

No worries - I wasn't criticizing you for asking here. Just thought posting there might give you a bit more exposure and increase the odds of getting it. Good luck!

No luck on our end. Sorry. I would post in the ISO, if you have not yet, as quite a few people subscribe to the ISO and File Exchange, so they'll get the emails about it if it's in there. (but, it is the holidays, so it may be a bit fewer ppl reading than usual.

Thanks for looking, Red. I'll list it in the ISO.
