  1. Wow. I thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese film COCK AND BULL, full of Pulp Fiction-esque roundabouts and a Coen Brothers vibe. I would expect this to be on my CAKES LIST 2017.

  2. "In a few years time, all screenwriters will have to modify their scripts so that no woman is murdered in a film. From now own, they can only kill men. If they refuse to follow this rule, screenwriters will be accused of “promoting femicide” and end up in jail." Interesting read at https://panampost.com/vanesa-vallejo/2016/07/30/feminists-and-other-politically-correct-tyrants-are-taking-over-the-world/

So true. Sick of the endless circle jerk of articles from so called social justice warriors crying about how unfair it is for <insert group of people here> to get a movie made or a script sold.

      READ: IT'S HARD FOR EVERYONE.

  3. 200 views of the CAKES LIST 2017 and no one has any picks of the year to offer up?!?

  4. Alright, I'm dying to head to a magnificent Indian buffet for lunch - can I get some suggestions on what will be my next fantastic read? There's nothing like grazing well, hunched over a dynamite script.

Not new -- and both already filmed -- but I liked reading 2010 aussie film "Animal Kingdom" and the pilot for "Orphan Black." If you like Ingelsby, you should like those.

Thank you. I've made my selections for tonight's read - the Orphan Black pilot and Luc Besson's MALAVITA (after seeing trailer online). Thank you - please keep the suggestions coming.

The Orphan Black series is actually really good. Surprisingly so, dare I say.

Not my favorite, not my least favorite - enjoyed it.

  7. Does any one have any "scripts" of videogames? I guess it's in some sort of form of "rights and lefts", as in the choices a player makes along the way? My son is interested in media arts / game development and I'm trying to turn him on to the STORY side of the "art form." (cough cough...)

someone posted the 2 guns script recently, not quite video games, but he could read a script before the movie comes out in theatres, which is kinda exciting.

I can see why he's pissed. It's the same reason I got pissed when they remade total recall. He's a purist and so am I. Only difference being, I don't think Total Recall actually happened... It was all a dream!

Might it be a good entry into an e-reader for PDF scripts? http://gizmodo.com/the-best-cyber-monday-deals-1474441564/@shanerobertscommerce

  11. Good Lord, Fast & Furious 6 was simply wretched. Every line was a full-on groaner. I pity the morons that laughed along, above the howls the the damned infant on some idiot's lap. I was dying inside at the slow mental pitches to the lowest common denominators that pepper this increasingly jamoke planet. Twarn't much better when I snuck over and wasted two hours of my life in the excruciating wonderment that is Hangover III.

  14. Hi everyone, I just wanted to say goodbye of sorts, perhaps not forever. In a few days, I won't be renewing my TB subscription. I want to say thanks again to all the terrific members here and the happy sharing. Perhaps in a few months, I'll join back in. My Kindle is going to be hungry, I know... If anyone wants my email address, drop me a message in the next few days.

Best Actress. A fun read. Joan and Bette at their best/worst.

  16. Hmm, Write2Reel went to a "paid site" status yesterday. ($60.00 a year) How many of you frequent this "little brother" to the Tracking Board? For the most part, TB kicks ass over it in all areas, but lately some gems have popped up via someone scanning in hard to find scripts. I think I'll pass on paying for their weak service. Any thoughts?

      agkinowerken

I found it a good source for older, harder-to-find scripts -- e,g, a recent thread on Hitchcock thrillers, mostly scanned originals -- but I'm not convinced it's worth $60 per year... Also, lack of warning of movement to pay service was somewhat annoying....

    3. Gunnerkat

      Gunnerkat

Really, $60 a year...and you give no notice at all. Pretty amateur. I liked the site and probably gave more than I took, but for that kind of money I'd expect a lot more. Sayonara Write to Reel.

    4. Preminger

      Preminger

So everybody has to pay $60 now? even long time members that added scripts?

  18. I have a GREAT movie pitch, but it might be too unbelievable: As the top law enforcement official in the United States, the U.S. attorney general, incredibly, met with the husband of a woman under investigation by the FBI in the back of an airplane idling on the tarmac. As a former president, the husband had considerable political clout. Days later the head of the FBI recommended no charges be brought against the woman, to jaw-dropping incredulity. In the aftermath, the head of the FBI finds...

  20. I'm looking for suggestions on what to read next... Any thoughts on some of the new specs shared here recently?

Taking with the TB guys this afternoon, apparently singe the HL began, the BL overlap has increased from 30% to 52%, rising each year. Which is kind of hilarious. Especially considering everyone keeps saying the spec market is dying - but, well, here we go.

    3. Nic.Lishko

      Nic.Lishko

I think the reported spec sales make people think the market is dying. Gointothestory reports 55 spec sales this year. That's pretty low, but I imagine a lot go unreported?
