      I haven't seen it yet, but color me skeptical. I'm not sure where exactly you go with this premise. It's one thing to identify (strangely enough) with a meth dealer or a tortured soldier turned ambivalent half-terrorist, but true-red KGB spies at the height of the Cold War? Really? I don't mean this in a jingoistic way...but WHY?

      I don't think it's all about identifying with the characters (not speaking specifically about this show because I haven't seen it). I don't identify with either meth dealers or tortured soldiers. But I love the characters because I find them fascinating and believable even if I can't relate to them.

      You have the spies' home life with the kids, their own faux but real marriage, their missions both together and alone, disguises and drops, the FBI agent who lives across the street and his family, the CIA office, flashbacks to training in Russia...that's a LOT to hold our interest.
