  1. Where do we stand as group on referencing actors in a script's character descriptions? (i.e. Think: Jennifer Lawrence, Beauty & The Beasts) Weigh in.

      If memory serves, Sean Connery ended up in Time Bandits because Gilliam wrote "a Sean Connery-like character" in the script.

      Wait, found the direct quote from the script: "The Greek warrior removes his helmet, revealing himself to be none other than Sean Connery, or an actor of equal but cheaper stature."

      Not a fan personally. It almost always takes me out, the few exceptions are comedies, like bishop said. Not only does it take me out of the script, it really tells me nothing about the character -- a Jennifer Lawrence type could mean anything to a number of people. That's at best. At worst it puts me in a very negative mind state as a reader, like saying, "oh, really? You think you can JL for this role?" So I say avoid it and put time towards really capturing the heart of your cha...
