I was on a date once when I received coverage. She went to the restroom, I checked my phone and there it was.

The amount of will power I demonstrated the rest of the night was incredible.

  5. Pilot: Done. Animated spec: Done. One to go for queries. Question: When querying a TV pilot, do you also submit a bible or just the pilot?

      Reader George

You should have a succinct bible with key character profiles available upon request. At the end of the day you'll need to demonstrate series longevity. You should at least have loglines for a full season. I thought I saw a detailed pitch for The Wire uploaded to the library.

If you're just querying agents and managers then a bible isn't strictly necessary. They want to see good writing. If they think you're idea is worth taking out to producers then they'll ask you to produce a series treatment/pitch/bible. The extent of what you will need varies, but you see people offering pretty in-depth show breakdowns these days (especially from writers who aren't established).

  6. They're filming Silicon Valley at the hotel I'm at. Stood around and watched for an hour. This has been such a cool day.

The town starts to soft shut down the Monday before Thanksgiving, and the week following it's all but zombies at the office.

  10. Clocking in at 89 pages, the fastest first draft I've ever done for my first Horror/Thriller. It's not great by any means, but hoorah, it's done. FOR NOW.

  11. Apparently foreign distributors are really interested in the horror thriller spec I've been working on this summer and want the script ASAP. Has anyone else had to rush write a script before?

  16. Guys (and gals). Go read Frank. Seriously.

  17. Guys and Gals...I need some awesome horror scripts please. I just had a crazy meeting with producers who want to produce a horror film, but refuse to watch them.

These are becoming quite popular, particularly with scripts where tone is important. I did it myself with one of mine. While it is incumbent upon you as a writer to nail a good tone in the script, a good lookbook helps those who are visually, imagination challenged. I won't name names.

  21. Script I worked on all summer and turned into Universal? Turns out a title with a "the" in front of it sold last month for a tv series. I think mine is still different enough...:/

      Send me your email George!

Nothing is wrong with it Axalon. I've done it and it was great. Just don't want to keep paying when I got no job and no money. I will querify four management companies if I don't get the fellowship at universal I applied for. :-D
