Indie means your financing doesn't come from any of the studios/media conglomerates. That's it. It has nothing to do with budget. Indie used to be a low-budget designation because filmmakers were lucky to raise a million in financing but with billionaires looking to buy an Oscar, foreign money and investment groups it's no longer true.

I haven't seen Mad Men, but I do enjoy The Walking Dead. Hell on Wheels is the best new show of 2011. End of story.

In regards to the terrible title, when our CE told me about this one, I passed on it from hearing the title alone. It wasn't until later in the day I realized Borelli wrote it. Who the hell would chose that title. It sounds like the movie Ben Stiller made in "Tropic Thunder"... which I'm surprised no one has tried to make yet.

I don't think anyone ever hated on flashbacks, its just that you see them done terribly and pointlessly a lot. Same with opening a script with a flash forward. If it serves no purpose, axe it.

I don't like them as a general rule and almost never use them. They are easy to make funny, imo, but they take me out of the story.

The constant flashbacks on the Following are gradually making that show unwatchable
