Seems silly artisically to go further. tbh I thought pt 3 hit a lot of the same notes as the previous two.

  12. 3 years of screenwriting conferences later and I'm curious: Is there an expo or a conference that is WORTH going to? John August and Bill Marsilli were amazing last year, but I just don't know if I'll go this year...

Anyone been to Austin before? I heard there is a pitch fest...

    3. treyselman

      treyselman

Yeah. Austin's stout. Not too familiar with their pitch set-up, but they do have one and it's multiple rounds. Solid judges around.

      aphid47

Austin is great. Went last year. The conferences were fantastic, and it's easy to meet people since everyone is out drinking at night.

      Nic.Lishko

LOL. I don't think people get what I'm say....The script is called Frontiersman and it's a new spec for this year. I was going to review it for a member review, because I actually liked Without a Paddle, but I just couldn't get into it at all.

  18. Any suggestions on how to find out if a movie is being shot in your area?

    1. mikeyP_73

      mikeyP_73

Start at the state level. Usually your state posts (in their film department website if they have one) upcoming movies or shows. Then if that doens't work, start at the major city level... I know NYC, Chicago, Vegas, Detroit, NoLa, etc does that ... call your state or local film department if there is one.

    2. treyselman

      treyselman

state film commissions are a good place. otherwise. get your hands on a Production Weekly or PRS Report. Good luck.

I instantly believe you. I can't get passed the "He walks like he's never walked before. With purpose. With intrigue. Maybe he almost steps on gum. He avoided it. Close call...Kind of stuff in the general area,

  23. Seven Psychopaths listed under sales today? PLEASE BE REAL! In Bruges is sooo damn good.

      Nic.Lishko

If I'd grown up on a farm and was retarded, Bruges might impress me, but I didn't, so it doesn't.
