  1. Sorting RT by Comedy, 80% or higher and made in 2000s. Movies to see: Sidekick, Kenny and Millions (boyle). All have super high scores, never heard of any!

Kenny is a great Aussie film - pretty much all about the guy that cleans those toilets you see at festivals. V. Australian humour though - not sure it did too well overseas.

  2. The Three Misforunes of Geppetto is like Big Fish crossed with The Princess Bride. 30pages in, I like it a lot :D

  3. Trying to figure out the next member review to tackle...

  4. Just reviewed The Epiphany on the member reviews. If you love Se7en, this is 100% for you.

If you liked this the BBC miniseries Messiah (2001) might be of interest.

Why? To both. I will say this, I don't like how Thor suddenly looks way different then in the movie Thor.

Loki was never a huge villain, at least from what I saw. He's the god of mischief, not evil. They needed a villain like Galactus, the eater of worlds. The villain is just as important as the heroes in an action movie.

The thing I liked about the trailer was that virtually nothing was told or shown. I would bet he's not the only villain, that would be a tad ridiculous...

  5. Just got back from seeing The Future, by Miranda July. Confusing. Quite confusing.

Was it at least good confusing?

Maybe? It's hard to say. The trailer was deceiving as all crap which probably was what really pissed me off at the end of the day. I give it 2 mleh's out of 5.

  6. Posted thoughts on I, Alex Cross in the reviews section.

  7. Small world, this girl I sit next to at work's bro worked on I, Alex Cross. The story I heard from her sounded so badass I had to read the script. Freaking loved it, can't wait to review it for you all next week :D

  8. If I could've made a wish for the Make A Wish Foundation, I would've wished for a better pilot for Terra Nova.

  9. Finally, a new Member Review from yours truly. The Spellman Files sneak into the Member Reviews now!

  10. Exit Through the Gift Shop was interesting for sure, I just dislike most modern art so...wasn't for me, but was fun.

  11. Midnight in Paris was wonderful. Very very wonderful.

100% agreed. And very inspirational for writers! Oh Dali and his rhinoceros'...

  12. Never figured out what it was, but I'm thinking I should check out this Exit through the gift Shop thing as people keep recommending it.....

SWEET. Me neither. Figured I'll just apply and see what happens.

  14. Very disappointed with Father Daughter Time. Considering the $$ I expected a script with NO spelling errors or typos. Plus a better story...

The company where I work bought a script where rogue was spelled as rouge throughout. No one cares about your typing skills just the overall script.

Thanks for the comments. It just didn't do it for me at the end of the day. I don't mean to spout about hard work or requirements, it was just an aggravation :D

yes. it's owned by Amazon, btw. also, u can use pro on your iPhone or iPad devices. Handy info to have on-the-go. Haven't had any problems in the years of using it - THUMBS UP.

The 2-week trial is a good idea, but I recently cancelled my Pro subscription and moved to Its On The Grid. The back catalog type listings are great, but I found projects currently in development often lacking. Worse, I consistently found personnel listings to be inaccurate, often missing months-old Exec moves which had even been reported in Variety.

Our film office actually closed in July :D. That's why I was trying to find another resource. Thanks all the info everyone!

  16. Dang. Can't justify going to Screenwriting Expo this year. Maybe next time.

  17. MAN! Nothing gets your blood pumping like Ninja Warrior. Serious shizzle.

  18. Just finished How It Ends by Brooks McLaren. Pretty damn good.

      It was...surprisingly.

      Last act was uneventful though

    2. Nic.Lishko

Correct. I felt like it was a "faster" version of The Road (book not movie) that still left a lot to be desired.

  19. Okay, which one of my British friends thought it was a good idea to do a Johnny English 2? 8 years after the original?

  20. Just saw the trailer for The Sitter. I think I'm fighting a losing battle writing family and teen comedies.

The test for the right genre should be your own personal taste. If you can objectively say that you'd go see your movie opening weekend if it wasn't yours, then you're doing the right thing, irregardless of what the spec market is or isn't. Do good work and the offers will follow...

Danke dude. Good to hear that kind of stuff.

      Nic.Lishko

LOL. Thanks geek :D I remember it being a huge spec sale.

  21. Filming was a lot of fun, took a few pics and one video of Heinz Ward riding on a batmobile. Can't wait for the film, was slick watching Nolan work.

  22. Wandering Pittsburgh. Dark Knight Rises shooting all day tomorrow if no rain. Crossing Fingers :D

Pennsylvania is Hollywood East which is why I'm proud to say I'm a member of the Keystone Mafia, though Philly would've made a better Gotham. Just sayin'.

    4. Cyber Hater

      Cyber Hater

They're just using downtown Pittsburgh as certain parts of Gotham, then patching all the locations together to make "Gotham" hence all the cities being shot in vs just Chicago ala "Dark Knight"

  23. Quick movie review's: Submarine - 3.5/5, Cowboys and Aliens - BARELY 3/5.

      My recent DVD views...

Insidious: Kinda scary but not THAT scary.

Serenity: Unwatchable if you're not a fan of the TV show. 20-25 minutes of exposition to begin the film? Ugh -- I'm now really worried about Whedon's Avengers.

Lifeboat, Hitchcock -- very dated and hoaky, can't say it stands the test of time very well.

BDrip review - "the exorcist" scared the shit outta me. "The Fall" is BEAUTIFUL. "Haloween" has been on repeat. Carpenter's version is way more solid than Zombie's (admirable) re-make.

  24. Can't tell if that's cocoa...or coffee...but it looks good.
