I'm looking for romantic comedy/dramedy movies or scripts about a married couple who break up and get back together at the end of the movie (e.g. The Ex). Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you are an aspiring screenwriter who wants desperately to tell the stories that pop in your head at all hours of the day, the FUCKING IGNORE all this nonsense, about what is a sale and what isn't. Jesus. The people talking about this the most, won't be around in two years. Get a bottle. Stand in a lightning storm and pray you capture it. Or just write great stuff. You do the math.

Hey Charlie Brown, I appreciate you sharing, man. I find your story really interesting.
My perspective is limited, but it seems that what Gary calls a Hope Machine isn't really a malicious and systematic attempt to create hope in industry outsiders. However, it sounds like there is the potential for folks outside Hollywood to be misinformed to some degree.
I don't think Gary's telling folks to stop writing. If his post gives people some information they didn...

I'd love to know how many recent "sales" are actually options and not what they claim...

I think I found the John Gary post. It's perhaps an interesting springboard for discussion?

I'm curious - is it as unsurprising to others that Need for Speed underperformed analyst expectations? I've been tracking it because it seemed like expectations were overblown from day 1 (it was definitely not under-marketed).

Box Office Mojo had an interesting analysis going into the weekend.
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=3798&p=.htm
Here's a bit of it:

Screenplay for drive has 89 pages. The movie is about hour and forty minutes.how do you show slow burning moments/scenes? Also the drive script suffers from he thinks, she thinks.

Spacing the action lines is one way. More space can be used for action that takes more time to show on screen. You can use white space to adjust the pace of your action.
Off the top of my head, I made an example to illustrate:
INT. Building - Day
Jake slides to a stop and pulls his gun. He levels it at the window. BLAM BLAM BLAM. Glass SHATTERS. He shields his eyes as he's showered by glistening splinters.
Then, footfalls.

Is the new Jack Ryan movie not tracking well? I feel like Paramount is really going all out with their marketing for it.

Man, it felt exhausting getting through Wolf of Wall Street. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Really not sure how to feel about American Hustle. On one hand, I admire the theme of the story and the ambition of the storytelling; on the other hand, it feels like a hot mess and is just not as satisfying as it should be.
